Chapter 26

Chris's POV

Most of us are here sa may pantalan while Gab, Kier John and Jerrick are preparing barbecue for dinner.

"Sha, last na ito sa bucket list mo. So, anong pakiramdam na nafullfill mo na yung list mo?"

"It feels great. Maybe I'll write more but before that, I'll help Chris with his list."

"Guys, look the sun's setting na."

"Waahh... ang nice, ang ganda." a sunset, a simple thing pero ang laki ng impact sa kanya, that's Sha for you, kahit gaano kaliit ng bagay she really appreciates it.

While she's too focus sa scenery, Jay and Claire left us.

"Sunset, means it's over but that doesn't mean na wala ng a new starting point for a new beginning."

"Yeah, sunset doesn't only symbolizes something is over but it symbolizes to expect for a new beginning, a new start."

"And a second chance."

We stood right there for a moment, it's about time Chris, to tell her, to tell her what you've been thinking about these past days, to tell her how you truly feel. It's now or never.

"Sharon." I held her hand and pull her towards me. "Mahal pa rin kita. I still love you." our faces were inches apart but slowly it's getting closer and our lips meet, we kissed.

After we broke the kiss ay bigla siyang tumakbo paalis while I was nailed to my position.

We kissed. Biglang nag-init yung buong mukha ko. Hindi naman ito first time but it felt special just like the first time. Too bad it lasted.

After dinner we all gathered around but since the kiss, Sharon hasn't been talking to me or at least made an eye contact. Maybe she's just shy, right?

"Let's play a game." biglang sabi ni Claire.

"I'm in." sabay taas ng kamay ni Gab.

"Go rin ako." Jerrick and Jay said at the same time.

"Me too." Kier John said.

"Guess, I'm in." she said.

All of them looked at me and waited for my response.

"Do, I have choice. Ayaw ko namang maging KJ."

"So ang game natin is 'Pick me up'. So I have a box here and inside are papers with our names written on it. So kung sino yung mabunot mong name is may itatanong ka sa kanya or ipapagawa then pass the box to the person next to you. So game?"

"Game!" they all shouted together.

"I'm first." at bumunot na si Claire ng paper. "Jerrick." she showed us the paper with Jerrick's name on it, she then rolled the paper and put it back sa box. "So uhmm... what's the most attractive aspect of Gab?"

"Her whole existence."

"Wow sana all." kantyaw ni Jay.

"Awee.. ang sweet niyo naman. Buti pa si Jerrick ang sweet kay Gab. Ewan ko nalang kay Jay."

"Come on babe, kung ako yung tatanungin ng ganun, yun rin naman yung isasagot ko."

"Sabihin mo gaya-gaya ka."

"Babe naman." sabay pout ni Jay.

"Here Sha, you're next." sabay abot ni Claire kay Sharon ng box.

"Okay." at bumunot na siya. "Claire. So I want na huwag ka ng magtampo kay Jay."

"Seryoso ka talaga diyan, couz?"

"Yup, seryoso ako. Sige bati na kayo, bati na yan."

"Fine, oh sha bati na tayo. Okay na?"

"Para namang napipilitan lang. I-hug mo nga ako."

Claire immediately hug Jay, ang cringe talagang panuorin tung dalawang 'to.

"How about kiss mo ako." sabay nguso ni Jay.

"Baliw." Claire then slap Jay softly.

Sharon then handed the box kay Kier John.

"Chris." sh*t, of all people ako pa talaga yung nabunot niya. "So, if ever you're going to have a child, which would you prefer more a boy or a girl?"

"Seriously?" I paused for a while. "Gender won't matter for me. Whether it's a daughter or a son, I'll love them and cherish them for the rest of my life."

He just smile slightly and pass the box to Jerrick.

"Kier John. So let's see." nag-isip muna ng itatanong si Jerrick. "Okay, I want you to be honest, don't tell me na hindi ka nagkagusto kay Sha when you two became friends sa States."

"That's tough, but honestly yeah. We became pretty close to the point that I like her. But sadly someone else holds her heart. Kaya nga bumalik siya dito sa Pinas for him. Ang swerte nga naman niya masyado." he smiled bitterly.

The game went for a while at for the 4th time pinasa na yung box sa akin. I picked a paper in the box, it's the name I've been waiting to pick. "Sharon." at last we made an eye contact. "Sharon, I still love you and I want us back. Sha, give us a chance. I don't know what went wrong the last time pero I'll leave it all behind for us. Kaya sana...sana..." before I could finish ay tumakbo siya palayo. I hurriedly got up at sinundan siya.

"Sha!" and grab her wrist, pagharap niya, she was crying. "What's wrong?"

"This, lahat ng ito. This is so wrong."

"What part of it is wrong? To love you, again?"

"Chris, I made it clear na we should be friends nalang. Pero mali 'to, mali na mahalin mo ako ulit."

"Sha, it is never wrong to love you again. I'll wait for you, hihintayin kita until mahalin mo rin ako ulit."

"Chris, ayaw kong saktan ka, I don't want to hurt you more than I already did."

"Then let me love you again, you're gonna hurt me more if you won't let me. If this about that reason why you left before, well f*ck that, I don't care about that anymore. What matters right now is yung tayo ngayon."

"Chris, why do you have to make this hard for me."

"I'm not Sha."

"Yes you are, things right now are really hard kasi heto ako nahuhulog na rin ulit sa'yo. As much as I want to hold myself back..."

I pull her towards her I kiss her. That's all I need to hear, that she loves me too. "Then don't." I said after we broke the kiss. I smiled at her and  I kiss her again pero when our lips met the rain suddenly poured down but we just continue our kiss.

I erased this 'To kiss in the rain'  from my bucket list 'cause I thought it'll be hard to make it happen but, what are the odds it did happen.
