*Riki's POV*

It's been hours and I still have been trying to calm down. I will stop crying, but five minutes later, there's tears rolling down my cheeks. I slapped my face a couple times before standing up, sucking in a breath. I went into my bathroom and washed my face, keeping my tears back. I brushed my hair and teeth before I cleaned up my room that was full of tissues.

After my room was all cleaned up, I put my pillow back on my bed before I teleported into my dorm room. I got onto my bed, burying myself under the covers as I tried my hardest not to break down again.

Come on Riki, you're stronger than this.

I slowly opened my eyes to my alarm clock blaring in my ear. I used my death quirk on it and my alarm clock crumbled to pieces, causing a long sigh to come out of my mouth. Since my emotions were out of wack and I wasn't happy, that means my death quirk could easily activate and kill someone. Fun. I slowly sat up, my sinuses draining as the pressure in my nose shifted.

Last night, I had multiple nightmares of what happen back at the lab when I was a kid. Every time I fell asleep, I would wake up at least half an hour later, most likely crying. All for One is dead, his lab has been cleaned out, the police are trying to hunt his workers that are still alive, and last but not least...

My friends are dead. And it's all my fault.

I felt as if the universe was mocking me. No matter what I did, where I looked, who I was with, I was always reminded of their deaths as their blood laid on my hands. The streets were flooded with the lists of workers they found in All for One's lab as they were slowly identified by people and by files. The world was spinning faster and faster yet I couldn't move. I could only listen and accept another weight on my shoulders.

"ALRIGHT YOU FILTHY BASTARDS, GIVE ME YOUR TRASH!!" I heard Bakugo yell...from the first floor.

I shrugged on my uniform and teleported downstairs. My class was getting ready to walk out the door, everyone but Bakugo and Midoriya being dressed.

"Hey Riki! You ready for today?" Aoyama greeted

"Sure am" I responded with a smile, completely lying right through my teeth.

"Oh let's go!! The ceremony is about to start!" Mina shrieked while yanking me out the door.

We all got into the auditorium and I sat between Mina and Kirishima. I drowned out the entire thing as Mic babbled on about the new semester that was ahead of us. He congratulated us for earning our licenses and said that all the teachers were very proud of us. He went on saying something about going to work with a hero and become their "sidekick" for a while. We would go out on missions and whatnot, blah blah blah, I've already heard this speech many times before.

I walked with my class back to our dorm building, everyone happily chatting about the chance to become a hero's sidekick.

"What hero would you pick, Riki?" Shoto asked

"Edgeshot" I responded

"Oh, that's a good one! You sure you can keep up?" Kirishima asked

"Why are you asking him that when he's not here?" I asked

The class fell silent in confusion before they quickly realized what I meant.

"You really think you can beat him? He's an amazing hero." Uraraka asked

"Yeah, he's not called the 'Ninja Hero' for nothing." Jiro spoke.

"I've worked with him before. That shit hurts when he stops your blood flow, but that's only happened once since I had no clue how his quirk worked."

"Since when have you worked with a pro hero?!" Mineta asked as he practically hung onto my leg.

"Okay, first, I was taken in by a pro hero then raised by pro heroes. Second, I've been through all this before, except I was in the shadows since I wasn't a student. Third, I worked with him when I was twelve and so on because I always snuck off when I was little, so Aizawa thought that sending me to him would be good." I said then chuckled, "He lasted ten minutes before I escaped and ended up at an ice cream shop in a different city."

"Whoa seriously?!" Denki asked as we walked into the dorm building.

"Yeah. It was pretty easy to escape him. Ever since then we've trained together at random times." I shrugged while I felt the class stare at me.

"You sure are something else." Shoji said and I smirked.

"What are you guys talking about?" Midoriya asked

"Riki was telling us that she's trained with Edgeshot before and she plans on choosing him for the hero work studies." Momo said

"Hero work studies?! What's that?!" Midoriya exclaimed

"Sorry, but it's forbidden to tell you! You'll have to find out when your punishment is over!" Iida said, flailing his arms around.

"I VOW TO CATCH UP ON EVERYTHING I'VE MISSED FOR THE PAST THREE DAYS!!" Midoriya announced loudly, clenching his fist.

"Oh, guys, come look at this!" Kirishima yelled from the living room.

We all gathered in the living room as Kirishima turned the volume up on the TV.

"Officials have been working very hard on All for One's lab and they officially announced that they've identified everyone. This weekend, the city will hold a large funeral for all the lives that were lost to this lab. To keep organized, only families are allowed to attend in person since the funeral will be broadcasted live. Our hearts go out to everyone who has lost a loved one and we wish you the best." The reporter said.

"Oh damn" Denki breathed as I bit my tongue.

"I feel so bad for those people. Not only did a bunch of people die, their families and friends haven't seen them in who knows how long." Uraraka said and I walked off to the kitchen.

"I know. It's so sad." Momo sighed

"Should we watch the funeral here?" Mina asked and as I pulled out some soba from the fridge.

"Yeah that would be a great idea. We could even go to the site after it all, that would be very manly to pay our respects." Kirishima said before I teleported upstairs into my room.

I made sure my door was locked before I climbed up on my bed. I held the knob on the side of my bed and flipped it up, raising my bed in the air until I was halfway up. I let the knob go and moved to the edge of my bed. On each side of my bed, there was a thin wire that ran along the rim of the platform. I picked the wire up and pulled it up as high as I wanted, a black curtain coming up. I pinned the wire to the ropes on the side and continued for each side of my bed. I finally relaxed, completely surrounded by black curtains, as I ate my soba in the quiet, trying not to think about what just happened.
