Chapter 66

*Riki's POV*

It was a few days after the Festival that I didn't even get to go to. Thanks to being injured and stuck in a wheelchair, my father forbid me to go! He even glared at me when I said I could just fly through it all! How rude of him, right?

I snorted loudly, my body sprawled out across my couch. I was at home watching yesterday's hero billboard event and I was in hysterics from Hawks casually testing Endeavor on live TV. Hawks knew he pissed Endeavor off and he purposely kept going as if he wasn't doing anything.

I quickly calmed down when the TV switched to breaking news.

"Endeavor vs. HighEnd" was the headline.

I paled, my face becoming tingly as I forgot how to breathe. I fell off my couch and struggled to support myself as I stared up at the TV. Endeavor and Hawks were dealing with HighEnd, Endeavor taking him head on, and Hawks using his feathers to save people from a crumbling building.

"WHERE...IS SHE?!" HighEnd yelled, being captured on camera from a helicopter. "WHERE IS..RIKI?!"

It seemed as if everyone across the city froze in their place. My name is well known since I go to UA, even more since I was revealed to be Eraserhead's daughter.

"Riki? As in Riki Aizawa?" A female reporter asked from the ground, the cameras switching. "Why would HighEnd want her?"

I could hear my phone ringing in the background, my father and a bunch of other people calling me. The ringing faded out as I bolted down the street, going down alleys to avoid being spotted by anyone. My eyes stung as tears welled up in my eyes, and it wasn't because I was barefoot.

It's not possible...
Endeavor's gonna kill them.

As I ran, I teleported out on top of a building that was near the battle.

"TENKO, WHAT THE FUCKING HELL?!" I screamed angrily while doing parkour across the rooftops.

"He was sent to us. You know him?"

"Who sent HighEnd?!" I growled loudly

"We don't know. A letter appeared and said that a Nomu was left for us. Dabi visited him and sent him out to fight. Who is he?"

"Them, Tenko, them." I corrected and jumped off a building, teleporting down lower to where Endeavor was lying in a pile of rubble, his left eye being majorly cut.

"WHERE..IS R-RIKI?!" HighEnd asked while walking down the street, staring at everyone.

"Why isn't Endeavor getting up?!" Someone yelled

"He's the number one hero!" Another yelled

"Riki's going to die if that thing gets his hands on her! Endeavor, get up!" Another yelled from the crowd.

I looked around the corner and stared at HighEnd, tears running down my cheeks. I slowly stumbled around the corner, not believing my eyes.

"HighEnd...I'm right here!" I announced as my voice cracked, and everyone focused their attention on me.

"Is this girl crazy?!" Someone yelled from the crowd as they all started yelling for a hero to come save me.

That's not what I need.

"Riki..." HighEnd breathed before they swiftly picked me up and ran across the rooftops, the crowd screaming from below.

HighEnd stopped on top a roof and held me close. I was sobbing by this point, hugging HighEnd tightly, them doing the same thing. I could hear sirens and yelling coming from the distance but we all ignored it.

"I'm so sorry!" I hiccuped while squeezing HighEnd.

"For..what?"

"For everything. I promised you guys so many things and I have only kept two! And that was killing him and his lab! Then...then I killed you guys." I sobbed and HighEnd tightened their grip on me.

"R-Riki, it's not your f-fault. We were forced to k-kill each o-other. It w-was all...his plan."

"But it is my fault. And now you're gonna die again because of me!"

HighEnd pulled away and held my face, "N-no matter what you do, you w-will always be our hero. We c-came for you k-knowing the d-dangers. W-we are sup-posed to kill and f-fight the heroes and you. But, w-we didn't. All we wanted..i-is for you to k-know that you will a-always be our hero, a-and nothing w-was your f-fault."

"Please don't leave me." I choked out

"We will..always be with you. Just...one call."

I looked behind HighEnd, seeing Endeavor and Hawks coming towards us.

"I love you guys." I cried

"We love you too."

"But," I continued, "I'm not letting you die again. If you die, I die." I finished and moved around them.

My right arm lit on fire and I shot it at Hawks who was ahead of Endeavor.

"WAH! Kid, what are you doing, protecting that thing?!" Hawks yelled

"Leave us alone!" I yelled and shot a fire dragon at him.

"Riki..stop. It's okay." HighEnd said, placing their hand on my shoulder.

I whipped around, "No! No it's not! I can't lose you guys again! After everything I've done, it's always been for you! I've let you down so many times- I won't give in."

"You haven't let us..down. We k-knew we wouldn't make it."

I started crying more, "It's not fair."

"We kn—" HighEnd started before they were launched high into the air.

"NO!" I screamed in horror as they flew off, Endeavor lighting them on fire as Hawks flew up to the them.

I jumped off the building and flew after them, not caring about the cameras that were surely catching my every move.

"LET THEM GO!" I screamed in rage and clapped my hands together, sending a long wave of fire at Endeavor but making sure not to hit my friends.

Endeavor screamed in pain before going quicker, trying to ignore the black flames that still flickered across his body. Suddenly, my leg was yanked down and I was falling to the ground. I looked down and saw Hawks grabbing my foot.

"LET ME GO! I WILL BURN YOUR ARM OFF!" I yelled, trying to kick him away from me and not hurt him.

I respected Hawks. I mean, he was too laid back for my liking and has a creepy chicken addiction, but when a true fight broke out, he was risking it all. Also, he just doesn't give a damn about what comes out of his mouth and that amuses me.

"Why would you want to protect that monster?!" He yelled back as he held onto me.

"HighEnd is not a monster!!" I yelled angrily and lit my leg on fire, immediately making him let go.

I teleported over to Endeavor, grabbing onto HighEnd's wrist as we fell down, covered in orange and blue flames.

"WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!" Endeavor yelled at me

"NO! NO NO NO!! WAKE UP!!" I yelled while pounding my fist against HighEnd.

"THE MONSTER'S DEAD RIKI! WHY DO YOU CARE ABOUT THIS THING?!" Endeavor yelled, trying to keep his flames away from me but it wasn't working since we were falling towards the ground.

"WAKE UP! JUST PLEASE WAKE UP!" I screamed as I started crying again, ignoring Endeavor as he kept yelling at me to get off.

"RIKI, MOVE- YOU COULD DIE!" Endeavor yelled, sounding somewhat worried.

"NO! I WILL DIE WITH THEM!"

I shook HighEnd, trying to wake them up until a huge, orange and blue explosion went off as we hit the ground, a loud, agonizing scream coming from my mouth.
