CHAPTER 15

Until now, hindi pa rin nagsi-sink in sa utak ko ang gustong ipagawa sa akin ng magulang ko, kaya naman nagtaka ako nang humarang si mama sa pintuan nang papalabas na ako para pumunta sa napag-usapan naming lugar ni Rence.

"And where do you think you're going?" Sabi niya.

"Ma, please. Don't do this to me." I said while the tears starts to form in my eyes.

"Hindi ka aalis ng bahay unless kasama mo kami." She command.

"Don't treat me like a child... I'm already 20! You...you can't control my life."

And I received a slap again. That's when my tears starts rolling down to my cheeks.

"Naririnig mo ba ang sarili mo? Look what you've become because of that man! Look how ungrateful you are now!" She exclaimed.

But her face softened as she stepped closer to me.

"He is not good for you, Arie. Look how he affects you. That's.." Sabay turo niya sa akin. "...this is not our daughter. You've changed because of him." Mahinahon niyang sabi.

"I-I didn't change, ma. I just learned how to live my life...how to be happy...but you keep on stopping me from being all of that."

For the second time today, she slapped me again. But this time, with tears in her eyes.

"How dare you!" Naiiyak ngunit may diin niyang sabi. "How dare you talk to me like that? Hiwalayan mo na ang lalaking iyon or else, me and your dad will do anything just to show you that being with that man will do nothing good to you." She said then turned her back to me.

I cried again. I can't move. I can't even make a step.

I took out my phone to at least give an excuse to Rence.

'Biglang sumama pakiramdam ko. Maybe we can just move it next Sunday.' Then hit send.

Minutes after he replied.

"Sige, madami pa namang mga linggo. Magpahinga ka na lang. I love you."

But that didn't happened.

Pinagbawalan akong lumabas mag-isa. Kahit si Chai naman talaga ang makakasama ko ay hindi pa rin ako pinayagan kaya sa tawag na lang kami nag-uusap.

It somehow calm me. At least may isang taong nakakaalam ng nararamdaman ko sa mga oras na 'yon.

The remaining days of my vacation was like a hell to me. Hindi ko nga alam kung paano ko nagawang magdahilan kay Rence the whole month.

Gustong-gusto ko nang makita siya, pero hindi talaga pwede.

Next thing I knew, papasok nanaman ako sa classroom. This time, I don't have the eagerness to study.

I want to see Rence.

Tulala ako habang naglalakad kaya naman hindi ko namalayan kung saan ako umupo. I didn't bother to sit beside Barrie 'coz I didn't know if he's already around.

"You're not gonna sit beside your friends?"
Someone said that made me look around.

At nang makita kung sino ang nagsalita ay napuno nang pagtataka ang aking mukha.

"Kel?" Sabi ko.

She smiled. "Miss me, Arie?"

Kung gulat ako sa pagbalik niya rito. Mas nagulat ako nang lumapit siya sa akin habang may ngiti sa kaniyang mga labi at nang makalapit ay agad niya akong niyakap.
