Chapter 1

Normani POV

as I walk through the front doors of the school i get memories of me in high school. I see myself hanging with my friends and with my on again off again high school lover. I smiled to myself while shaking my head and headed to the office. I walked in and headed to the lady at the front desk. She looked up and smiled.

" Hi i'm the replacement for the New English teacher" i said with a smile.

" Ah yes Principle Ramos is running a little late so you can wait for him or head to your class" she said with a smile.

" I think i'll head to the class thank you" i said as i walked away. I bumped into someone. I almost fell but they caught me. I look up to see my high school lover.

" Arin" i said with wide eyes.

" Normani hey" He said with a smile while pulling me to my feet. I knew was about to ask me what i was doing here

" i'm the new English teacher for 11th and 12th grade" i said with a smile

" Oh well im the history teacher for 11th and 12th grade. so maybe i'll see you around and we can catch up" he said with a cheeky smile. I nodded smiled back and walked around him.

" Mann he can still get it" i mumbled walking to my class. I'm a little early so there's not to many kids here.

Once i get to my class i unlocked it and headed towards my desk. I sat my stuff down and took in everything. I let out a breath then smiled. A few mins later i heard a knock on the door to see a guy in his maybe mid 30s come in.

" Hello i'm principle Ramos" He said with a smile while checking me out. I shook off him doing that cause i need this job.

" Hi i'm Normani Kordei" I said with a smile with my hand out for him to shake. He shook it. We talked for a bit before the bell rung and kids started piling in by the minute. Ramos talked to them about respecting me and what not. Some kids actually listened while other just drooled at me. He left and i finally got to talk to the students.

" Hello class i'm Ms.Kordei and i will be your new English teacher...."

I've had a lot of smart remarks by kids and one even tried to get my number after one of the classes. I was thinking about what i'm going to do with the kids tomorrow when someone knocked on my door. I looked up and seen arin. I smiled.

" hey some of us teachers are having lunch in the teachers cafe and i was wondering if you would like to join so your not eating alone you know" he said while rubbing the back of his neck.

" yes i would love to just let me grab my bag" i said as i got up and got my bag with my lunch in it and my keys.

We walked out the room and i locked the door and started heading towards the teachers lounge. We walked in and he pulled me towards the group of people.

" Guys this is Normani she's the new English teacher replacing Sharron" he said with a smile. I waved.

" Hey i'm Kathy smith the music teacher"

" Mia Davis the science teacher"

" Liam Garcia the photography teacher"

" Noah Thompson the cooking teacher" he said with a wink. i smiled while arin glared at him but then looked around.

" Where's Olivia? did she have a-" and right on cue and girl about my age walked in with food in her hands and student behind her carrying papers. They came over sat the stuff down and the student waved at the other teachers. They looked genuinely happy to see her. One even pulled her into a small hug. I smiled at there interaction but then I looked at arin and he looked upset.
