Thorin Oakenshield Stole My Heart

Introduction

        At the beginning of the Dwarf and Elvish time, around the forest of Mirkwood and the Misty Mountains there dwelt a foundation of stone. The only mountain of its kind, The Lonely Mountain dwelt near the borders of Mirkwood and near the Elven King’s Halls. Inside the mountain was a city. The dwarf city of Erebore was run by the mightiest dwarf lord, Thror.  He never doubted his royal line as it was strong from the lives of his son, Thrain and his grandson, Thorin. Not long after, Thror was becoming obsessed with the taste of gold and jewels. Eventually, a dragon came to inhabit the Lonely Mountain and steal Thror’s gold. As the dragon burned through the city of Dale and then broke through the dwarf doors of the mountain, King Thror grabbed his stone which was called The Arkenstone and tried to run with it. Unfortunately for Thror, Smaug was already in his treasure room smothering himself in gold and jewels. Once Thror got there he tripped and dropped his Arkenstone upon the stone floor. It rolled down the steps and into the dragons ‘nest’. Then the dwarves ran from their home and stumbled outside where the Elven king Thrandruil and his kin were standing by. Thrandruil however did not want his kin to die for the sake of the dwarves and so the Elven king took his kin home. Thus, the war between Elves and Dwarves began. After being driven from their home, the dwarves of Erebore made their way to Moria and battled a fierce army of Orcs led by Azog, the palest of them all. After the dwarf army was almost at its defeat, king Thror faced the pale orc but sadly he was killed and then the young dwarf prince faced the pale orc alone. Only using a broken oaken branch as a shield. He fought off the orc and cut Azog’s hand from his arm. Azog sunk back into Moria and then the Dwarf army was called back to Moria and thus they fought off the orc army. Once the dwarves won, they all decided to appoint Thorin their king and then they moved to the Blue Mountains which is near the Shire. Now the dwarves must enter the dangerous mission of rescuing their mountain from the black dragon, Smaug.
