Chloe rushes out of the classroom as the bell rings. She felt Beca eyes on her as she all but ran out of the classroom. She knew she was watching her. Maybe she could of already figured it out. But there was no way.. right? She didn't give her any obvious clues or hints. All he knew was her age, name, and that she was a senior. Plus a few other things when they were asking each other questions. Maybe what give it away was her eyes and hair color.. it's obvious that it's her. But let's pray that she doesn't find out yet. She also felt another pair of eyes on her. Without even having to look, she knew who it was.
Chicago. Chicago had a crush on her for a while now. But his soulmate was Kyra. But it wasn't a mystery that they want nothing to do with each other. It was a well known fact Kyra likes going after boys with no soulmate or under 18. Chicago on the other hand, just had eyes on Chloe. But he never approached her. It wasn't a secret that Chloe wasn't supposed to have a soulmate. It was practically a well known fact. So, Chicago liking her wasn't a big deal. Before Beca, she wouldn't of had a problem being with him. But now, she actually had someone that was meant to be with her. Even if it was a women, she'll risk it just in case there was a glitch in the system, she at least wanted to experiment how it would be like having a soulmate.
Chloe made her way to her next class. She was going to her Greek Mythology class. This was another class she shares with Chicago. Actually, a fair amount of their classes lined up. It didn't bother her. She would enjoy being friends with him if they ever talked. Chloe was to nervous to go up and talk to him. And he was always with his football friends and would never come up to her. Maybe she could talk to him in second period and be friend him?
She made her way into her class with 3 minutes to spare. She made her way to the back of the class per usual. Stacie and her also shared this class so it was cool to have a friend in it, without her being quiet like she always is when she doesn't have a friend in it. There were only 5 seats in the back and they were all spread out. This wasn't a big class to begin with, not many people were interested in Greek Mythology. It gave Chloe a chance to enjoy a class without anyone being loud or constantly interrupting the class. She cares about her grades very much and she want's to be able to concentrate. In total they were 15 people in the class total. 8 of them were boys and the other 7 were girls.
There was only 1 minute left before the class was going to start. "Hey Chlo" she heard Stacie calling her name while passing her to sit in her own seat. Chloe smiled and waved as she watched Stacie waving back and sitting in her seat. Everyone was here, well almost everyone. Chicago hasn't shown up yet. His seat at the front of the class was currently empty. Chloe watches the clock as the hands over to show the time. She already has her notebook and pen on her desk. She didn't know if she would need their textbook yet or not. Right before the loud bell rang, Chicago slides into the class. He was slightly sweaty, almost as if he ran all the way here. Mrs. Garcia looks over at him with a scowl on her face.
"You're lucky Mr. Walp. You know I don't appreciate it when students are late. Now go sit down"
Chicago had a flash of fear on his face as Mrs. Garcia spoke. She was an amazing teacher, but she always displeased when her students were late. She likes to keep the class steady and smooth. Always making sure everyone was caught up and understanding what she was teaching. Overall she was an amazing, cool teacher and enjoyed it from what Chloe can tell. Chloe watches as Chicago pulls his notebook from the shelf and grabs a pen to write with.
He makes his way to the back of the class and takes a seat next to Chloe. The desks were in columns of 3 and 2. Chloe was in the row of 2 so Chicago was sitting directly next to her. Maybe he just wanted to work with her today, or maybe he needs help? Chloe thought to herself. She was able to have her own thought without sharing them with Beca, she just had to be careful about it, She had to put up a mental bock first though. It wasn't very hard to do, all you had to do was concentrate and block out anyone else. She did feel bad for anyone who did have more then one soulmate. (which did happen occasionally) because, they had to block multiple people out if they want to have their own thoughts. She wouldn't complain though, she was lucky enough to even have a soulmate. But, she didn't want Beca to hear the random thoughts she has throughout the day. Some of them are slightly embarrassing. She doesn't want to bother her if she has a loud or busy class. Plus the next class, is full of girls who love to gossip, she almost felt bad for her.
"Alright guys, I want you to pick on of the minor Greek God's or Goddess's and do your last project. I want to know why you choose that particular one and what's special about them. I would also want a picture of them. For the artists, you know who you are, I want it hand drawn. For our less artistic people, you can either draw it or I want multiple in full color. The criteria sheet is at the front of the classroom, everyone needs one. You may now begin. Mrs. Garcia let's them know and goes to sit back at her desk. "Oh also forgot, you do need a partner for this. If any of you don't have one, let me know."
As soon as the words left the teachers mouth Chloe's eyes went at the back of Stacie's head, Stacie quickly turned back, ready to open her mouth, probably to ask her is she wants to be partners. Before any words left her mouth, Chicago beat her to it.
"Would you by any chance like to work with me Chloe?" he quietly ask her, not trying to embarrass her. Chloe made eye contact with Chicago and bit her bottom lip, internally debating with herself if she should work with Chicago, or Stacie like always. She looked over at Stacie and gave her an apologetic smile, and trying to talk to her through her eyes. When Stacie understood she nodded slowly and smiled before turning back around.
She made eye contact again and agreed. She felt bad for not being partners with Stacie. That's always the plan for this class. Every time partner projects were involved they would always work together. "I wouldn't mind. I'll get the textbooks, you get the criteria sheets. Please?"
A smile covers Chicago's face. "Of course"
