Power Struggle - Takami Keigo X Reader

Coming together

-A few days into recovery pass-

you groan staring outside book in hand. You've been making vials waiting to go back to work. Keigo visited your first two days keeping an eye on you but they were quick visits, enough to rest his wings and eat. You sigh closing the book unable to focus on whatever animal piqued your interest that morning. You moved a pile of papers off a book and opened it pulling out the first feather you found from Keigo. You smile 'that birdbrain better be taking care of himself' you think looking back outside. It wasn't official but you had your schedule with him. Morning you would get some automatic message from the agency telling you not to go out on patrol, then you'd do whatever mindless activity you wanted for the majority of the day, somewhere between noon and sunset Keigo would show up and bring dinner before going off to what you assumed was home. Little did you know for the last four days he'd been switching between hero work and villain recon, trying to stall Dabi and the league from finding you, those short visits used to ensure they hadn't made progress on finding you.

Kitaro paws at your leg snapping you out of thought "hm? what is it boy you hungry?" you ask standing back up you place the feather down on your desk and pick up your furry friend "Jeez, you're getting chunky huh," you say carrying him to the kitchen to his bowls setting him down you scoop some food in the bowl. you stand and smile as he eats you look at yourself and sigh "guess all that food Keigo has been bringing is adding some weight" you say to yourself touching your tummy. "that's it! I'm going for a jog" you say determined you go to your bedroom and choose out your f/c tank top and matching compression shorts. You put on your sneakers and head out the door. You stretch a little on your porch and enjoy the fresh air. you tighten the straps on your satchel you pull out your phone and place your headphones in listening to your playlist. You start jogging around the neighborhood. Enjoying the soft orange the sky took. 'he must enjoy the views of the sky he gets to see every day' you think watching the birds fly through the sky. 'must be amazing to be able to get away from everything'  you think stopping to cross the street just as you took the first step you hear a crash and take out your headphones. Looking around you hear people scream and run back in the opposite direction. 'that sounded like it came from the convenience store you think' taking the corner. People were running past you in a panic. You stop and see a giant gray monster it almost looked like something from a zombie movie, just as you approached they focused on you its creepy eyes rolling over to look in your direction. It screeches and comes after you. you jump out of the way and look at back it "Evacuate the area I have no idea what this thing is, or capable you" you shout to the last few people hanging around. you reach in your pack and pull out some vials spilling them out. 'i just need to keep it busy enough for other pros to show up' you think keeping your eyes on it. It turned around and screeched loudly getting ready to charge again. You smirk and command "defend!" A black bear charges in and crashed into the Nomu. You run in and look at your friend. The bear stands beside you and growls. The Nomu stands back up angrier. You back up the bear standing on its hind legs, and growl "be careful," you say worried about your bear. 'He's one of a few black bears left I can't endanger him too much' you think. You look around 'where are the pros when you need them?!' Your bear growls and swipes at the Nomu attacking locking it against the ground, you reach in your satchel and grab out a vial and throw it at the Nomu. 'It has bird-like beak maybe this will calm it' you think a harsh stench takes over the area the Nomu screeches becoming docile. You sigh and walk up to the bear and pet it "thank you,"  you say relaxing "go home" you command. The bear gets back on its four legs and walks away from where it came.

You looked at the Nomu trying to figure out what it is, what makes up its grotesque body. Just as you were about to touch it a blue flame engulfs the Nomu, it screeches as it dies in front of you. You back away and look at it helpless "what in the world " you look around trying to figure out who else was watching. Pros showed up and looked at you "Epithymia!" You hear, you groan and turn around giving a strained smile "heey Endeavor" you say your hands behind your back. "What is this thing? " he says walking up to the Nomu. You shrug "I don't know it was mindlessly attacking civilians and after I managed to tame it, it burst in blue flames,  I've never seen anything like it, " you say Endeavors face stays stoic "take it the body for investigation," he says to the trainees behind him. "You go home, this is taken care of," he says walking off.

~Hawks POV~

I watch from a rooftop and grit my teeth seeing Dabi risk her life like that. "You got what you needed she can stop them now leave here before Endeavor finds you here," I say "go down there and walk her home, get what we need and report back"  Dabi orders. I look at him "pretend your worried anything to get her to trust you, otherwise, we do this my way and harvest her quirk my way" I grit my teeth and look at her. I dive down and land behind you. "Y/N! are you alright?" I Ask touching her shoulder. "Oh,  Hawks you missed it I took this big bird thing down and it totally just burst in flames," she says her eyes shining in excitement. I smile and pat her head "told you, you can protect yourself " I say  "how's your head? Feeling better?" I ask she gives me a small nod. "Good, let's get you home ".

  you and Keigo walked home in silence, he looked so occupied not as carefree as usual. "How was patrol?" you ask. He looks over at you "you know same old same old" he says "a couple of cats in trees and some petty crime". "Hawks the thing I fought, it had no real interest for civilians it was more causing a commotion waiting for someone to challenge it, do you think its some kind of villains quirk?" you ask walking up to your door  "or do you think it was looking for something?" you add unlocking the door. Keigo grabs you and pulls you towards him he covers your mouth "I can hear someone" he whispers lowly. You look up at him worriedly 'who would be in my house' you think, 'there's nothing worth stealing in there' you squirm a little "Kitaro is in there I need to get him" you whisper back trying to escape Keigo's grip. He grabs you and puts you behind him "You need to calm down, I'm going in there and checking it out you need to stay behind me" he says grabbing a feather sword. He opens the door and looks around in the dark house, you both take a few steps inside. You look around trying to locate your feline friend. "are you sure you heard some-" Keigo pushes you to the side as he gets attacked from behind "Well well well boss said you'd come but we thought you'd be alone" Keigo bursts his wings open pushing the attacker off him, you get up and push the lizard-like man knocking him down, just as he was about to get up Keigo puts the feather sword against his chest. "Why are you here who sent you," Keigo says demanding. "We're getting closer to our goal, you'll never be able to escape Y/N the symbol of peace will fall," he says just before a purple mist forms around him he goes through it and everything fades.

After Hawks searched your house for more intruders he grabs a bag and hands it to you "Your not safe here, we need to move you away from here". "W-what I can't just leave all this" you protest holding the bag he grabs you by the shoulders and looks into your eyes "you heard what he said you can't escape he knew your real name Y/N!" he says getting frustrated. You look down and tear up you knew he was right but this was the last thing you had from your parents, the last place you had memories of them and you had to leave it all behind. "I can protect you but I need you to come with me," he says his eyes full of worry. You sigh and nod. You go to your room and bag as many clothes as you could in your bag, you grab your equipment for your satchel and zip up the bag, about to walk out you turn back and grab the picture of your parents. Kitaro rubs against your leg and meows at you. "come on we got to go" you say saddened and pick up your feline. you walk downstairs to Keigo he had grabbed a few of your items from your parent's shrine and placed them in another bag.  "ready?" he asks walking to you, you shake your head and walk outside you head down. He sighs and follows behind you locking and shutting the door.

Keigo's assistant had come by with a car to take you to his penthouse you sat in the back in silence, Kitaro in your arms. Keigo sat beside you "we'll come back when it's safe but for now, I need you to trust me" he says grabbing your hand "I promise" he says giving you a smile. you blush a little and look away to see the cars pass by the window.  "Where are you taking me?" you manage to ask.

"You're coming to my nest," he says leaning back in his seat "I just hope it's up to your standards," he says trying to lighten the mood. You giggle a little imagining Keigo in a literal nest.  'Maybe this won't be so bad' you think.
