A Different Ending to Legend of Korra

Chapter 1:

After Korra and Asami's trip to the spirit world, they had grown very close to each other. They were only there for a few days, but they were inseparable after that. Of course, nobody else knew that while they were there in the spirit world, Korra admitted that she had feelings for Asami. And This begun their relationship together. They weren't sure if they wanted to tell everyone because they weren't sure how they would react. So they decided against it, and waited to see if it would work before telling anyone.

That was about 6 months ago. Everything has been going well so far with everything. Republic city has almost been rebuilt, Varrick and Zhu li are happy, along with Opal and Bolin. But most of all Asami and Korra's relationship has lasted. Republic city has also expanded a lot, and Mako was now seeing a girl named Himari. Himari seemed to get along with everyone, she is a water bender who was born in republic city. She was quite a lot of the time, however. Korra is still living on air temple island, along with Asami (not living together) because Bolin's family was still in her house. Airtemple island is where the next part of the story takes place. In Korra's point of view.

KORRA'S P.O.V.

We sat silently around the table eating out white rice with chopsticks until Tenzin began to tell us about how rebuilding republic city was going. "Most civilians can move back into their houses safely, and Asami president Raiko says that we will probably be able to start construction on the future industries building." He said excitedly. Asami smiled, "That's great Tenzin, how many people still need to move back into their houses?" "Less then 500 in the whole city," he answered. "Wow, so Tenzin it's almost all done, how many days do you think it will take?" I said looking up from my rice. "Probably one or two, if you can come and help us we could finish even faster Korra," Tenzin said hoping to get me to come. I looked at Asami and she smiled and nodded, holding my hand under the table. "Ok Asami and I will help out," I said smiling. Tenzin smiled, "Great!" Meelo frowned, "So Korra and Asami can go but not me? I'm far more qualified than them!" Jinora put her hand on his shoulder, "Meelo we need you to stay here in case anyone here needs help, and you still have a lot of training to do. You want your tattoos right?" "Yeah, Meelo! I'll get my tattoos before you do!" Ikki said. Meelo folded his arms, "Fine but only because I need my tats." Me and Asami laughed and finished our dinner. After dinner, Asami and I went for a walk around the island. "Asami I'm not sure I'm ready to go back, the people of republic city really aren't too happy I created a giant portal in the middle of their home," I say rubbing the back of my neck looking down. Asami sighed, "Korra I mean this in the best way possible but your overthinking this too much, and I'm going, to be honest, I love you but I'm kind of sick of being cooped up here. And it's difficult having to help you work out all of your emotions while I can't express mine." I looked at her for a minute a bit stunned, stunned that she said that, and that she felt like that. "Asami I had no idea you felt that way, I'm sorry but I really just don't think that I'm ready for the responsibility of taking care of the people again." Asami looked away, "well then Korra I think that I should leave air temple island," She paused and sighed, "And I also think that we need to.. take a break from each other." Again I was stunned by her words. This was so out of the blue. "So are we... breaking up?" I asked keeping tears from my eyes. Asami turned her body and didn't look at me, "Yes I guess it is, I'm leaving tonight don't stop me." Then Asami walked back to get her stuff, and I was left alone in the dark.
