3rd person
"Sir Haechan-" "Don't call me that, how many times I've told you already." The hazel haired scolded and the pink haired just rolled his eyes over the other interrupting his speech, then continued: "Yeah I know. Hyuck, the highness asks your appearance in the throne hall. It's very important, you should hurry."
"Really? I don't wanna." The hazel haired huffed as he laid down in protest, making himself comfortable in his bed and not showing any signs of standing up.
"Listen Donghyuck, you don't want to get your parents angry and I don't want to get fired. I even rushed here the fastest I could because I knew I had to discuss this with you again."
"Renjun, you won't get fired, I'm keeping an eye on that. I'm mean you're the only servant with Jaemin who I opened up to. Thanks for the message I guess, Imma get going." Donghyuck sighed heavily and practically jumped up from his bed, throwing on his red robe which was decorated with some little golden details. If he could, he would've gone there with his pink pyjamas only. Sadly his strict parents wouldn't allow such 'silly' thing in the sacred throne hall.
Renjun watched as Donghyuck furiously shut the door, resulting in the poor boy flinching. Stomping down the red and gold hallway, passing a few guards and practically waddling like an angry child, Donghyuck finally stood in front of the huge golden shimmering doors. Oh how much he hated standing in front of it. It either meant news, which were often bad, or scolding, which was also bad.
He knocked tree times, because the rules said so, and waited till the guards from the inside opened the door. Donghyuck was already dying from how slow they opened. All he wanted was this 'meeting' to be over, the worst thing is, it hadn't even started yet.
The boy just silently walked in on the red carpet leading to the big shiny thrones of his parents. Was such seat even comfortable to sit the whole day on it?
The guards were lined up next to the red carpet and kept eyeing him strangely as they saw the pink pyjamas under his robe. But the hazel haired didn't mind getting juged, so he just smiled at them and winked at those who gave him the worst look.
The young prince already saw the face of his parents getting darker as they scanned him from head to toe, already getting worked up and ready to scold him.
"Lee Haechan! What are you wearing and what is that bad behaviour of yours?!" The queen shouted as she couldn't wait any longer to nag her son as soon he got in front of them.
"What? You always wanted me to be girl, be glad I'm wearing pink. And what's the deal here, I have the robe on, that's all you required." Donghyuck sassed back, already pissed by the events there.
Oh how he loved but also hated that name. The meaning of Haechan was so beautiful, but it was disgusting for what his parents have used it.
His parents never actually wanted to have him, a boy. All they wished for was a girl they could marry to the king of the South. But then surprise, he wasn't a girl. Donghyuck never understood why they told their people that he was girl and even gave him that name, 'Haechan'.
For all people in the east, Haechan was a girl. Always wearing a wig and a dress in public. Only the people on the castle knew their little secret. If someone who worked in the castle wanted to leave or was fired, he was basically beheaded. That's how they made sure no one found out. Or how they forced their son to stay inside all the time and if he had to go outside for ceremonial duties they made sure he looked female.
I mean, he was drop dead gorgeous and his voice was honey-like, but this didn't give his parents the right to change his gender.
"This behaviour is unacceptable, are you even aware of what we could take away from you!?" His father shouted, all the guards becoming worried about the more furious becoming king.
"My freedom and my gender? Yeah you already have that." Donghyuck stated and his parents knew it was a good argument, but it still couldn't beat them.
"No, your loved ones." His mother smiled as she leaned back in victory. "Don't you dare do anything to Renjun or Jaemin! You're so cruel, arent you?" the hazel haired spat with a clenched jaw. All he wanted was a little talk with his parents and then leave. He never guessed that it would escalate so quickly.
"No we're not cruel, you decide, it's up to you honey." His mother said while smiling innocently.
"So our beloved Haechan, listen closely to our plan you," his father said and stopped by the 'you' to point at the hazel haired, then said further: "should follow unless you want the consequences."
"I hate you." Donghyuck mumbled under his breath, avoiding the disgusting stare of his parents. The boy knew he couldn't do anything about it. It has always been the same. He talks to them, they threaten him and he has to do what they want. Somehow it was really hopeless.
But maybe there was something, or rather someone, who could change it forever.
