"Haechan dear, finally dressed up neat and nicely!" The queen said as the hazel haired entered the huge dining hall a few hours after the argument. After the little dispute they had, Haechan just got out of the throne hall and was later picked up at his room by his parents servants. And now he was there, in the dining hall.
At the very end of the table were his parents sitting, basically making him walk all across the giant room.
Donghyuck parents ordered to put him in a suit, and as a servant you couldn't refuse, neither could Hyuck, so thats why the boy wore a suit for once in his life. However, he usually had to wear a dress, that's why a suit was so foreign to him.
"Sit down." His father commanded as he observed his son if he would obey him. Haechan actually did with a frustrated sigh, looking at the golden shimmering plate in front of him.
"The food will be server soon. I even let your favourite chefs Jisung and Chenle cook for you." His mother smiled, taking a sip from her golden mug which is decorated with sapphires and rubies.
"Wait you're eating it too? And why are you making this sound like you want to be kind for once?" Donghyuck said with a surprised face, not believing what his mother just stated. "No, how could we, still don't know how do you like them and their awful food so much."
"The food they make is tasty and they are my friends, you just have no taste that's why." Haechan mumbled with crossed arms in front of his chest.
"So, son, we need you to take the main role in our upcomming plan." Donghyuck's father stated but the hazel haired just kept looking away. His dad sure noticed but he didn't mind, somehow he knew deep down that he deserved this attitude.
"As you know the son of the southern kingdom took his legitimate position as the new king and was crowned by the previous king. It was a pretty good move doing it when he's quite young, he really has a big career as a ruler in front of him." His dad explained and kept observing Donghyuck's reactions. Unfortunately, the male still had his poker face on.
"The southern kingdom also formed an alliance with the northern kingdom, which was a smart move to cut our roads off to the western kingdom and now our possible alliance partner is, frankly said, gone. We already predicted this move, Prince Mark from the southern kingdom and Prince Taeyong were really good friends even from childhood on."
"And why should I care about that stupid Mark Prince?" Donghyuck said clearly pissed. Maybe it was even because he was so hungry, wanting nothing more than food and also sleep. Deciding to drink a little water to fill up his stomach a bit, he took the golden vessel into his hands, guiding the cup to his plump lips.
"Because YOU my dear are going to marry him." His mother clapped her hands happily together and Donghyuck regretted drinking the water since he just spit it out and choked afterwards due to the shocking words of his mother.
"What?! Nah uh, no way, are you kidding? The last time I checked he was straight and I am too." Donghyuck stated as he jumped up from his seat, looking at his parents with wide eyes.
"That's where Haechan comes in, you convince him you're a girl and both of you will get together, marry, you make a contract to share the kingdoms, he 'accidentaly' dies and you're going to be the most powerful in this land. Ruling our eastern kingdom and also the southern, and you also have an alliance with the western Kingdom. Isn't that so exciting!" His mother shouted in joy.
"Yeah for somebody insane as you. How could you expect me to do something like that? Lying to him, marrying him and then just murder him? Are you crazy?"
Both parents just observed Donghyucks facial expression but the male just kept a straight face without showing any sign of sadness nor anger, which was quite a contrast to his loud voice.
However that changed when the boy began to process what his parents just said to him, he frowned. That was his future? Determined by two people who just want to use him? He was sure his parents would try something to rule themselves or control him.
What if he gets caught? He never wanted any of this. He didn't want to pretend being a girl, didn't want to be a king someday and didn't want those two creatures which were sitting in front of him in his life.
"So you're telling me I should marry a straight person? All you do with is getting me killed." Haechan glared, anger slowly wanting to break out completely.
"No, they won't, our guards are around." "So you planned that since my birth?! Thats why theres Haechan?!" Donghyuck shouted as realisation hit him, heavily breathing in and out. "Look my dear, even before your birth. And you know you have to agree." His father said which certainly made it even worse, failing his first purpose fully.
"You- ugh- I agree, but don't bother me anymore! Tell them to bring the food to my room!" The hazel haired shouted as he pushed away the chair behind him, then proceeding to stomp to the door, getting out of the dining room.
His parents just flinched as the door was pulled shut harshly with a loud bang.
That's how they one they knew they pushed it too far.
