Soon the anger was replaces by another emotion: sadness. Sad over his bad parents, sad over how he was trapped in the kingdom, sad over how his faith was. He didn't want any of this, all he wanted was a normal life. Nothing like he had right now. He would rather be a simple and poor farmer rather than having these rich and manipulating people around.
Soon his vision got blurry as glistering beats of tears started to form in the corner of his eyes. The hot tears slowly ran down his cheeks, reaching his mouth, then tasting the salty flavour.
It was already dark outside. Some window were opened, letting in the cold breeze which was dancing on Donghyuck's skin, giving him goosebumps.
Just the calming flames swaying left and right of the white candles he was passing were something warm right now, everything else just felt cold. The flames appeared as orange blobs which were moving a bit, that's how blurry his vision was.
Clumsily whipping off the tears with the back of his fist, the boy sped up his pace, beginning to run. All he wanted now was to get to his room. He never wanted to be in his comfort zone as much as he did in that difficult moment. Surely he noticed the stares of the guards, but of course he didn't care, he was used to their juding eyes. It's not the first time they see him like that anyway.
Reaching his room and hand landing on the doorknob, he twisted it quickly, pushing the door open. Just as he passed the door frame he immediately threw himself into the arms of the male sitting on his bed.
The pink haired returned the hug, arms tightly around the crying male and gently caressing his back to calm the now even louder sobbing boy down a bit.
"Are you okay-" "Does it look like I'm okay?" Donghyuck whispered tirely and leaned on his shoulder, getting guilty about wetting the boys uniform. "I'm so sorry Hyuck... can you please tell me what happened?" Renjun asked carefully as he began stroking the back of Hyucks head.
"T-they want my to marry the Prince of the South. A-and the worst part is I have disguise myself as female, as Haechan." The male shuttered as he was gasping for air immediately after he finished the sentence, due to the sobbing didn't letting much air left.
"And t-then they want to kill him so I become the ruler over the South and East and that I have an alliance with Taeyong, the king of the North." "That's- That's awful." Renjun whispered, also sad about what his close friend had to deal with, if he could he would put everything into stopping the parents from hurting the prince. Unfortunately he was just a simple servant who shouldn't have much to say.
"I don't want to be involved in this. I don't want to use people just as my parents do. I don't want to be a king, heck, even a ruler over two kingdoms. Renjun, what should I do?" The despair in Donghyuck's eyes was clearly visible as the hazel haired looked up to lock eyes with the pink haired and that broke a part in Renjun. He never imagined seeing his friend like that, that broken. Sure his parents were the biggest asshole on this whole planet, but that was on another level.
"A-and if I won't, they'll do something to you guys." The hazel haired cried even louder after he said that. "Listen, we figure things out... see it as an... opportunity, yeah right... an opportunity. You can escape them. If the public finds out about their plan and that they faked basically everything about you, they believe you. King Mark has the most powerful kingdom under his feet. You just have to be crowned as soon as possible, make Mark fall for you, and escape from your parents."
"But I-I d-don't want any of this." To Hyucks statement Renjun just sighed, hugged the boy in his arms even tighter, if this was even possible, and explained: "I know, I understand you, no one would want any this, but that's the best you can of it."
"But- Y-yeah you're right I guess. And I won't leave you here, that's set. We make sure my parents get what they deserve once I escape this hell." Haechan smiled sadly with puffy and glassy eyes, the dried tear streaks glistening on his red cheeks.
"No worry Mark will fall for you asap."
"He's straight I guess"
"Oh"
"You make him Donghyuck-sexuall."
"What- I hate you."
"You love me."
"Never."
"Okay Princess Haechan, you know what act you have to put up?" Renjun asked with a little teasing smile. "Yes, I'm hundred percent the opposite of male." Haechan giggled as he said that sentence with a high pitched voice.
But soon his face dropped and he started to frown as he thought about it more. "But what if the public knows all the thing, and also that I'm male, wouldn't they disapprove of two kings being together?"
"No way, it's not always about kings and queens. And also, Mark could easily behead anyone." "Yeah you're right. This plan is so stupid, but what other opportunity we have?" Giggling, Donghyuck leaned back to look at Renjun who just gave him a calming smile.
"We have to introduce Jaemin to this plan." The Prince suggested to which his servant began laughing: "He'll be the first to approve, trust me."
"Mission we overthrow the king-" "Quiet Hyuck!" "Yeah right, mission we overthrow the kingdom begins!" The hazel haired whisper-shouted with his first pointing at the ceiling.
Maybe it wasn't as simple as he wanted, but there still was a way out of it.
