We ended up leaving the park half an hour later and going to get some lunch, that's when things got interesting.

We were all sat at the table, a few menues being looked at while drinks were drank from, but everyone was completely silent. Nobody knew why, and the silence was oddly deafening.

"Okay, I have no idea what's going on but somebody has to explain because this silence is absolutely killing me" Shy broke after our food was brought to us after we ordered.

Everyone glanced at Shy, all of us but Remington and Trevor seemed relived that the silence had been shattered.

"It will explain itself in just a minute" Trevor said and stood from his seat for a moment before taking a small box out of his pocket and sat back down.

"Trevor?" Shy questioned, moving slightly away from him.

"No, hold on" he took a deep breath "I know this is early, we've only been seeing each other for a little over half a year but it's been the best time of my life, I'm not going to drag this on because it's nothing huge but it still means a lot to me, and hopefully it means a lot to you too" he opened the box and inside was a ring with a blue diamond on top "I got this a week ago and I've been trying to find the right way to give it to you and Remington helped me, it's a promise ring-" relief spread through Shy's face and my body relaxed "-will you promise to do everything in your power to stay by my side as my girlfriend, my best friend, until I can make this ring a engagement ring so you can stand by my side for the rest of our lives as my wife?"

Shy looked like she was about to scream with joy, like she had been asked the most important thing in the world, and I guess in some ways she was.

"Yes, I promise" she smiled wider than I thought possible and Trevor slid the ring on her finger before kissing her.

Clapping erupted around the table and the restaurant, Shy and Trevor laughed and we all went back to eating. Today was fun, and I'm happy that Shy found someone as great as Trevor, she's special and she deserves someone just as special. The rest of lunch was filled with lighthearted conversation and the rest of the day was filled with more things to do, we ended up shuffling over to the zoo for a bit and Shy freaked out about the penguins before we moved to the fair down a few blocks, it's a yearly fall thing.

Noah's hand was wrapped up in mine as we strolled through the fair with everyone else trailing around not far from us, out of nowhere Noah was running with my hand still in his and a smile on his face, I was laughing up until we made it to the Ferris wheel. I shook my head and tried to pull Noah away from the line but he stood his ground, I sighed before giving up.

"What's so bad about the Ferris wheel?" Noah asked

"It's weirdly romantic for only two days of dating"

"Common, it's a perfect first date thing"

"Great, you've made today into a first date, what next? Your taking me to meet your parents tonight?" Noah stiffened at my comment

"Fine, we'll just go hang out with the others" Noah's hand slipped out of mine and he slipped out of line, back towards the others who were playing a fair game.

"Noah!" I caught up to him and grabbed his arm, he turned to face me and he looked pained but was trying his best to hide it "look, I'm sorry if I said something to upset you, I was just joking around"

"It's fine, I just don't have the best relationship with my parents"

"I'm sorry, I didn't know"

"I know, I'm sorry I got upset, want to go play a game? I'll win you a teddy"

"Please, I'll be the one winning the teddy for you"
