Rohan
Once Ria began to feel a bit better we went for lunch. I took her to an Indian restaurant because one, I thought it might be good because she was missing her family and this was the closest I could get her to her family, and two, I knew for a fact that we wouldn’t have trouble ordering food here unlike in Paris.
“One butter chicken for me and...” I began my order and waited for Ria to tell me hers.
“Butter panneer masala”
“Butter Panneer Masala for the lady.” I completed the order – or maybe not.
“No types of roti’s or naan, sir?” The waiter asked. I completely forgot about that.
“Umm, two naans for now, thanks.” I finally completed the order. The waiter left with our order.
“We could have found a better place than pizza hut that day in Paris you know?” Ria began.
“I guess we could have found an Indian restaurant too but we were too hungry to think off all that.” I laughed.
Our order arrived in approximately twenty minutes. Ria served me first and then herself. I don’t know why but it felt nice that someone was doing this for me. I don’t mean in a servant kind of way but actually a nice way. I looked up and thanked her.
We ate in silence for ten minutes then it got awkward so I decided to start a conversation.
“So, we are friends now. I know about your family, you know about mine but I still don’t know much about you.”
“We’re not a date you know? But since you asked, I love dancing – but you probably already know that. I love Bollywood movies – Hrithik Roshan is bae and Katrina Kaif is my idol! Umm, I think I’m the best person in the world – I love me! And this is so hard so I’m just going to give up and your turn!” She completed the last sentence in one breath.
I smiled and began telling her about me. “I love dancing – just like you, I love Bollywood movies – Just like you – except Deepika is bae and Akshay is my idol. And I guess, I also think I’m the best person in the world!” Wow I never realised that we might have so much in common.
“So I guess the whole opposites attract thing is a lie.” She said.
“Huh?” I didn’t quite get her.
“They say that opposites attract but here we are exactly the same.”
“But isn’t that for lovers?” Shit! I hope I didn’t make her feel uncomfortable.
She started to blush and replied, “I think we should quickly finish this and go to our next destination.” And the conversation came to an end.
Ria
The conversation during lunch started off well but I guess it got a bit awkward towards the end and I ended up blushing and stopping it. I’m sure Rohan didn’t say that lover’s thing on purpose. No he can’t.
Anyways, we were off to our next destination and like always I was unaware of where we were going. It was so quite when we sat in the car after lunch that Rohan decided to put on some music. Luckily one thing we did not have in common was our taste in music. All the songs on his playlist were love songs whereas on my playlist you would find rocking, fun songs.
We finally got to our destination, the local shopping mall. Well that is definitely a surprise.
“I thought you were going to show me around London today.” I asked.
