Ria
"Where are you off too so early in the morning?" Alina asked as she woke up rubbing her eyes. I was applying the last bits of my make up.
"Good morning to you too." I smiled while doing my eyeliner.
"Yeah, yeah, but where are you going?" She asked again. "Ria, my wedding's in five days. You can't just leave me!"
"I'm not leaving you, I will be there for your wedding." I laughed finishing off my eyeliner.
"Of course you will be, but the days leading up to it. I need you, Ria." She complained.
I went and sat down beside her. "Nervous?" I asked. She nodded.
I pulled her in a hug and said, "It's just pre-marriage nervousness - I'm sure it'll go away once you're married."
"And you know this how?" She asked.
"Indian dramas." I laughed. She gave me a confused look, "I used to watch them back in Auckland with mum sometimes, that's where I learnt this off."
"Ha. Ha. Ha. Very funny." She said sarcastically and got out of bed.
"Everything will be fine; Just chill." I comforted her, "OK, I really need to go now, Rohan's going to meet me at the cafe for breakfast and we're going to roam around Rome."
"Wait!" She called from the bathroom just as I was about to leave.
"What?"
"Remember you and Rohan need to go pick up my cousin from Los Angeles and his girlfriend from the Airport!" Oh yeah. This was a special cousin of hers and she wanted to give him a warm welcome so she's making Rohan and I pick him up - and his girlfriend.
"Yeah I remember." I yelled back into the bathroom, "I'm going, bye." With that I left to go to the cafe where Rohan was waiting for me.
-
"You're five minutes and twenty-seven seconds late." Rohan said as I walked towards him in my yellow sundress. He was wearing a white DC t-shirt with a striped shirt over it and grey checker shorts. His sunnies hung in the shirts pocket.
"Come up with something original, Rohan." I said sarcastically.
He just smiled. "So, what do you want for breakfast?"
"Coffee, that too on the go because we need to travel as much as we can before twelve in the afternoon." I replied.
"Why twelve? I planned dinner as well." He said.
"I knew you were going to forget - who made you a CEO?" I snapped at him.
"Being a CEO has nothing to do with remembering things - that's why we have secretaries you see? But why only till twelve?"
"Urgh! We have to go pick up Alina's cousin and his girlfriend! Remember?" I said.
"Oh yes! I remember. See that's why I need you. If I was alone I would have forgotten." He said and hugged me.
"Rohan! Let go; people are watching!" I tried to pull myself back but his grip was too tight.
"Aye? What's going on here?" Someone called from behind. Aunty and uncle stood there smirking.
"Oh-uh-nothing." I said and managed to pull myself away from Rohan.
"What can I do, Uncle? I would't have to do this in public if you'd just let me stay with her." Rohan complained.
