After a lot of squealing and hugging it was time for a little celebration. Karan opened a bottle of champagne just like they do when they win a grand prix. He shook it all around, leaving most of my bar wet.

"I'd like to raise a toast to the newly engaged Karan and Alina," Ria stood up and raised her wine cup - yes, she drinks now, "You are two very special people who have the good fortune of having found each other. May you share exquisite happiness together all the days of your lives." She said.

"Aha, thanks, Ria" Alina leaned forward and hugged her.

"I'd like to make a toast too." Karan stood up with his wine glass. "There's something very special that happens to a man when he realises that he's met the woman that he's going to spend the rest of his life with. I think it's called fulfilment. When that moment comes, the words can't come out fast enough. Thank you, Alina for agreeing to be my wife and seeing the goodness in me, and the badness." He finished with a raising his wine glass as high has his hand could go and. I don't know why by all this just didn't set in my head, I was gone for four days and in that time he decides to get married? Four days ago he probably didn't even know what he wanted to to do the next day let alone planning the rest of his life!

"Awh, baby this is so cute. I love you so much!" Alina got up and kissed him.

"I'd like to make a toast too!" Alina said, what's up with this seriously? Does everyone have to toast? "The day I met you first, Karan. I thought it was the worst day of my life. You spilled coffee on my white top and didn't even say sorry, instead showed me attitude. I hated you so much but I don't know how or when we became so close and look at us now. Engaged and ready to get married! What I am feeling right now is something indescribable and I can't possibly put it in words. Thank you, Karan for being there whenever I needed you, and thank you for making me feel like a princess." She concluded with another kiss.

"Rohan" Ria whispered in my ear.

"Yeah?" I turned around to face her.

"Aren't you going to raise a toast? He's your best friend."

"Yeah, um, I don't know what to say." I came up with an excuse, there was so much I could say, but it just wasn't right for the current situation.

"Just start and it will come out automatically, trust me." She assured me with a smile. I had to say something, he was my best friend after all.

"I'd - I'd... like to make a toast too," I stood up with my wine glass, "Karan, my man, you've always given me surprises and this one? This one is... uh, was the biggest one of all." What else am I supposed to say? "You've always been there for me and-" He cut me off.

"Ok now you're sounding like Alina" He said and everyone laughed, including me. I have to say it was actually funny and I did sound like Alina.

"It's ok, Rohan we all know this is big for you and you don't have words to express yourself." Ria said.

"Yeah, dude. You can sit down I know how you feel." Karan added.

I sat down, feeling a bit embarrassed at the fact that I couldn't even come up with a toast for my best friends engagement. There was something that was bugging me about this whole thing, don't get me wrong, I really am happy for Karan and Alina but this is really not Karan. Karan, as much as I know him - which is actually quite a lot - I just don't think he's up for this lifetime commitment. I had to ask him what was going in his head.
