We've been back from the beach for a couple days now and things are going... alright, I guess. Taylor was happy to have his truck back in one piece and as promised I fully detailed it. Not that I really had a choice after Whitney's little incident but he doesn't really need to know about that. The rest of our trip went relatively smoothly. Sunday was spent nursing Whitney's hangover until that evening when we finally got to go out for dinner and spend some time together. I could tell Corey was glad to see us go and I can't say I blame him after that mess. I hope he doesn't hold it against me, though I doubt he will be letting us tag along anymore. Ash is having the time of her life down there with him, I haven't bothered her much but she usually updates me in the evening. I'm so glad she found someone who treats her like she deserves to be treated. I wish I could make Whitney that happy...
Flopping down onto the couch next to me she pulls me from my thoughts, "So, what are we doing tonight?"
"I don't know babe. Did you have something particular in mind?" I drape my arm over her shoulder and smooch her cheek.
"Well, I heard there was going to be a pool party and I invited Kurt and his friend to come up and hang."
Tell me I'm hearing things. I know she didn't just say what I think she said. "I'm sorry what?"
She gives me her best innocent face and pouts her lip, "Aw come on baby. Don't be that way. He was a good time. His friend is cool too. We always hang out with the same old crowd."
"Do I even get a say in this or is it pretty much a done deal?"
"Well, I think they're already on their way. And I told them they could crash here. I hope that's cool with you."
My mind goes blank. I don't even know how to respond to her. I'm doing my best to just make the girl happy. He's not my cup of tea but surely, he can't be that bad. I mean he did bring her and the truck home safely. I swallow the lump in my throat and steady my voice, "Sure. If that's what you want. Then it's fine with me babe."
She squeals and throws her arms around my neck positioning herself in my lap, "Oh yes Der. You are such an awesome boyfriend. I can't wait for you to meet them. I'm sure I can come up with a very nice reward for you letting them stay here."
I play along and squeeze her butt making her giggle. But inside I'm on fire. Hopefully Taylor and Jason will be there to keep me levelheaded. All I can do is hope for the best.

The day passes quickly and before you know it, I'm sitting on the lawn drinking a beer out of a red plastic cup talking with Jason. Taylor had other plans tonight but said he might join us later. Whitney is playing volleyball with a couple of other girls in the pool while Riley sits on the edge with her good leg in the water.
"It's a damn good thing that bitch is heated because that wind is a bit nippley if I do say so myself." Jason pulls his shirt up and pushes his chest out to prove his point.
I damn near squirt beer out of my nose, "You could cut glass with them Jay. The girls are going to freeze their asses off when they come up out of that water."
"Nah," He gives me that shit eating grin of his, "They'll just expect us to keep them warm. I don't know about you but I'm up for the challenge."
I hear an obnoxious voice coming from the back of the house we're at and my insides feel as though they've turned to stone. I've been dreading this all evening. "Yoooo, Whitney. Where you at girl!"
"Kurt!!" Whitney hops up out of the water and runs over to him giving him a big wet hug. "I'm so glad you found the place."
"I could feel you drawing me in girl. Now you done went and got me all wet, I thought that was my job?"
