Jason wasn't going to let up until I agreed to go out tonight, the first big party of the year. What is college without a little partying though right? I made it through high school without it. I kept to myself. People thought I was just a weird asshole but all I was trying to do was protect myself. I had to, I couldn't risk getting into trouble, not if I wanted to keep the roof over my head. I made it out ok though, I mean I had a couple kids I talked to but no one I really considered a friend, oh well. I might as well enjoy myself now. I have friends, I have a roof over my head and a decent job. I can still accomplish my goals, finally enjoy myself for once in my life.

Staring at myself in the steamy mirror after a shower, I contemplate whether I should grow a beard or not. I guess it really doesn't change much tonight does it? I'm brushing my teeth when I hear the bathroom door swing open, in walks Ashley Grace wrapped in a towel. I spit and rinse the sink out, "Hey girl. I thought you and your friends were going to the gym tonight? You're not showering before you go are you? That's ass backwards you know that right?"

"Haha smart ass. I guess they decided against it. Marie's got a thing for that Clark guy in the fraternity so she apparently needed a new outfit to go drink at an outdoor party." She rolls her eyes and pulls a Bobby pin out her wavy blonde hair.

I gather up my stuff and throw it back in my shower caddy. "Oh come on Ash, you know you need one too. I mean why wouldn't you want to have a brand new outfit to sweat in and come home smelling like alcohol and BO." I chuckle before I take another look in the mirror at my own hair.

She shakes her head, "I don't know. I swear I don't understand how to be a girl sometimes I wish I had been born with a wiener. It'd make things so much simpler." Reaching in the stall she starts the water and adjusts it to the right temperature.

I laugh. "It ain't all shits and giggles on this side either peaches. I guess I'll see you over there then?"

I watch as she unwraps her towel, I avert my eyes and look anywhere but at her as she reaches up to hang her towel on the hook outside the shower. "Yeah, I'm going to hang back and wait for them. Apparently we still have to be fashionably late or whatever. They're trying to convince me to let them dress me up. I just don't get it, we're going to be outside most of the night, it's going to be hot and sticky and gross. But I might let them just to get them off my back I guess." She chuckles and steps into the stall. "I guess I'll see you when we get there D."

I pull the door open to head back to my room. Taylor high fives me on his way to the stairs. "You ain't changed your mind have you? It's gonna be a good time from what I've heard."

"Nope, I'm just about to get ready and hunt down Jason to see what his plan is. I think I'm gonna whip up some burgers on the grill before we head out."

He takes a swig out of his coke can and belches, "Hey, that sounds good. Save me one with double cheese man. I don't know where that meathead ran off to actually. I'm going for a run but I'll be back in 30 or so. Let me know what's up. Ya'll fuckers can't leave without me."

We bump knuckles before he disappears down the stairs. I head into my room to find something to wear. Here I was making fun of Ash and her friends but what do I wear to this thing? Shorts? Jeans and a button up? T-shirt? Fuck. Maybe I ought to text Ashley and ask her. I guess I could be thinking too much.

I pull on my jeans. Next I open the drawer to sift through my shirts. I grab a dark blue t-shirt shirt with a grey pocket and slip it on. As I sit on the bed to pull my socks on the door swings open banging into the wall. "Bro! I knew you wouldn't let me down."

Jason throws himself down on my bed and rips ass. I shove him pulling my shirt up over my nose. "Dude come on. What the hell? Get on your own bed if you're gonna do that shit!"
