"there's a lot of risks in the way you carried out the mission today, i won't deny that, but i still owe you for more or less saving my life, so listen carefully." he instructed. "i went with kageyama and got him to delete all voice recordings between you, me, and tadashi."

you nodded, slowly, uncertain as to where he was going with this conversation.

"that means, any record of you saying you can't drive is gone. that was your main error. leaving your post, when you left the car, error number 2."

"but i found the cylinders of kerosene when i left the car, that helped later o—"

"disobeying a direct order from your supervisor, especially during a mission is more than enough to get you fired. can you just listen?" he sighed exasperatedly. you pursed your lips and nodded. "that car was our escape route, damaging it was too impulsive. that was error number 3. the mission was destroying the drugs, not the whole building. and the idea to set the place on fire was yours. don't do such flashy things in future, it's better to make it look like an accident."

you nodded again. "so, i should be getting fired for being such a rookie."

tsukishima grunted in response. "but i'm saving your ass."

"i'm really grateful and all, but uh- how are you planning to do that?"

"what do you mean?"

"sure we destroyed the drugs like we were told to do, but as you said, the damage was too big. there's no way i'm gonna just be let off the hook for this." you pointed out.

"i've got that part figured out. just keep your mouth shut and nod along." tsukishima began walking down the stairs. "oh, and no matter what, don't ever admit that you can't drive."

"l/n, come on in." upon being addressed, you stepped into the room, unaware of the report tsukishima had given. all you could do in that moment, was trust him. you walked in and stood next to tsukishima and yamaguchi, not interrupting by speaking up since ukai was in the middle of talking.

"and the members of the gang set fire to the building themselves?" ukai questioned.

"yes sir." yamaguchi answered.

"you claim they got a tip-off about a raid so they got rid of the evidence themselves before charges could be pressed, correct?"

"they expected cops to arrive at the scene sir, not us agents." tsukishima inputted, causing ukai to nod slowly.

"ah, l/n. tsukishima told me about how you managed to prevent him from being shot. good work."

"oh, uh, thank you sir." you managed, attempting not to look too nervous.

"you must be one of the first rookies who didn't blow the whole mission from overexcitement. keep it up, and you're all dismissed." he stated and the three of your filed out of the room quickly. 

the two members from the communications team who couldn't have been of much help in this mission since the ear pieces got disconnected rushed over to make sure you all were okay. tsukishima walked off with them, suggesting other methods to keep in contact for future reference and you were left with yamaguchi.

"you should head home, l/n." he told you. "you'll be called in again for work in a couple days, but you might need a checkup before you go."

"thanks, i'll drop by the medical room then." you smiled. "um, where is the medical room by the way?"

"5th floor, furthest door from the elevator." yamaguchi answered. "should i take you there?"

"no, it's okay. i'll be alright." you assured him.

"your head's been bleeding for a while." he pointed out.

"what?" your hand reached up to touch your forehead, and as he had stated, it was. "why the fuck did no one tell me? wait, why didn't i notice?"

"you're still high on the adrenaline, that's probably why you didn't notice. you might pass out when you calm down, and no other agents told you because this is quite the norm around here." he sighed.

"o-oh. right. i see. i'll get going to the medical room then." you said quickly and turned to the elevator, only to see that it had closed and began moving.

frowning, you pushed open the door to the stairs. "wait l/n, i'll go with you, you're not in the right state to go alo—"

"don't worry about it, yamaguchi." you said over your shoulder. "i feel fine, i'll get to the medical room in one piece." and you let the door close behind you and began climbing the stairs.

you had gone up two flights of stairs when your head began to spin, and everything started getting blurry. you knew there were people walking past you occasionally, so you did your best to play it off normally and not squint too hard, but you stumbled on the stairs and fell forward. lucky you had reached the third floor and didn't fall onto a bunch of stairs, but the flat ground instead.

"geez, you can't even walk properly, why did i ever think you could drive?" he mumbled next to your ear before dragging you to your feet.

you stood up with him help, lost your footing and stumbled yet again, but held the wall to support you. you squinted a little bit before your face brightened. "oh thank god, it really is you dino boy!" you exclaimed in relief. "for a minute i thought someone else knew that i didn't know how to dr—"

he clamped his hand over your mouth again in a hurry. "you couldn't have said that any louder." he muttered.

"you're underestimating the volume of my voice but sure." you scoffed. "now move, i need to get to the 5th floor."

"medical room?"

"yeah."

"i'll take you." you didn't have much energy to protest, because you swore you only blinked a few times but it was as if you had magically teleported to your location.

when you pointed this out to tsukishima, he rolled his eyes and said, "it's called an elevator."

"teleportation sounds cooler." you mumbled as you lay down on one of the beds as the nurse had asked you and immediately lost consciousness.

"how the fuck is she an agent here." tsukishima said quietly, shaking his head at you before leaving the room to go about his own business.
