you knew you probably shouldn't, but since tsukishima and yamaguchi hadn't returned even after 10 minutes, you got out of the car and decided to inspect the area.

you inched close to the stacks of boxes and cylindrical barrels that caught your eye earlier, and opened up a few of them.

the boxes were normal, just ordinary garden soil in packages. the cylindrical barrels, though, were filled to the brim with oil. you got a whiff of the scent.

that's not oil, it's kerosene.

you were beginning to worry about the fact that tsukishima and yamaguchi hadn't returned yet, but they were professionals, you had to have more faith in them. you put the lid back on the barrel after checking a few more of them.

all kerosene.

you sealed the boxes again and turned to head back to the car since you didn't want to risk getting caught by either the gang or your teammates. they'd think your snooping was incredibly reckless and impulsive, and in fairness, it was. but you couldn't help it when curiosity got the best of you. and besides, what you discovered could've been of use if you were on another mission.

before you reached, you heard the doors of the building burst open and saw multiple agents, including the two in your team, and you practically threw yourself into the drivers seat.

"drive." tsukishima ordered the moment him and yamaguchi were inside.

"i have to warn you, i can't." you said as you turned the keys to turn the car on.

"what?" he asked.

"i can't drive."

"why didn't you say so earlier?" he demanded.

"i did, you just didn't hear me!" you protested.

"you've never driven a car before?" he repeated.

"not unless you count bumper cars." you inputted.

others from inside the building were now approaching, and they didn't look too happy with a bunch of spies waltzing in and out of the building.

"there's no time to switch seats, just drive." he instructed.

"i just told you, i can't dr—"

"think of this as bumper cars." he told you. the two of you locked eyes for a brief moment and you knew then you couldn't fail him. this stranger was putting his trust in you despite not knowing you much longer than a few hours. "go." he stated, and as if on command, you stepped on the accelerator and your hands gripped the steering wheel tightly.

the other spies split up, making it harder for the gang members to chase you or hunt you down, but there were still a few cars hot on your tail.

tsukishima helped, whenever you made a sharp turn, he'd angle the steering wheel correctly so you didn't end up crashing into a wall. it wasn't perfect, though. you still ended up knocking over dustbins on sidewalks as you made your escape.

"woah! this feels like mario kart but in real life! why did no one tell me driving was this much fun!"

"you're destroying everything you drive past, if you weren't an agent you'd be fined for this." tsukishima answered with a tired sigh.

"ah, yes. that's why i haven't driven before." you remembered. "someone told me you're not allowed ram your car into someone else's car if they're too slow. what's the point in driving if you can't drive fast?"

yamaguchi was mostly silent but he let out a soft chuckle when he heard this. you were caught by surprise when your side mirror shattered and let a little help escape your lips. you craned your neck around to see what was going on. "if there's ever a time to drive fast, its now. hurry, clover!" yamaguchi warmed from the backseat.
