"Oh my gosh! There he is! He looks so different! He use to be shorter than me now look at him! He got so tall!"
"Who are you talking about? I can't see him?"
"That's him right over there!"
She pulled me by the hand and ran towards two guys that stood by a really nice car that was parked right outside the gate.
"You came! I'm so glad you did!"
"I told you I would try and well I was able to stop by"
They both hugged tightly. It warmed my heart to see Aria so happy about reconnecting with her brother. I turned to look at his friend who stood aside quietly looking at me. Both of them wore a masquerade mask on and a suit. They looked like two Prince Charming's ripped off a fairytale book.
"I want you to meet my new friend. Jade Wes- Um Carter"
"Nice to meet you" I said with a smile as he took my hand and courteously gave it a kiss. "It's a pleasure I am Jason and this is my good friend" before he could introduce us his friend suddenly spoke. "I'm thirsty. Should we head inside to have a drink?".
Aria immediately took her brother by the arm and led us back inside the party. There was something strangely odd about his friend. He wouldn't stop looking at me and for some reason it felt like a raging stare. I tried to ignore it by talking to Aria and Jason instead.
"So you're not here to stay?"
"I'm afraid not Aria..I have to attend business back home..But I will be back in a couple of days"
"Oh geez that's too bad! I thought we would have a lot more time to catch up"
"I will be back and we'll be able to catch up after"
"I guess"
"So Jade is it?" He shifted his gaze towards me.
"Yes that's my name"
"I hope I don't offend you but you're incredibly beautiful"
I gave him a blushing smile as I quickly turned down. I felt uncomfortable knowing that he was none other than Aria's brother. He was quite handsome really tall and had soft looking brown hair that was perfectly combed back. His green eyes sparkled perfectly behind the black masquerade mask he wore.
"May I have a dance?" He asked while reaching out for my hand. I looked at Aria waiting for a sign that it would be okay. She excitedly smiled and shoved me to dance with him.
"I can't believe this! My new lovely friend dancing with my brother..I love it..She's such a sweet girl"
"You think so"
"Of course I do..I met her on her wedding day..She looked so lovely wearing such a stunning white dress"
"Excuse me. I need some air"
"Are you okay?"
"I'm more than okay. As a matter of fact I couldn't be better" . .
