"Hi pa, it's been 18 years since you died, hindi man kita nakilala pero i know tha you're a good guy based on mama's stories.oh and sorry mama can't come kasi she's busy prepsring for my debut. you know how exaggerated mama is naman diba?"i wiped my tears. i have been visiting papa's grave every week to tell him how i feel or tell him random stuffs or tell him how much mama misses him.

"dany, let's go. tita is already looking for us" Kian said, breaking my very momentum talk with my father.

"you know you should atleast say hi to my papa"i said to him

"Hi tito!"he waved at my father's grave

"tss. tara na nga!"

sumakay kami agad sa kotse niya.

"how can you come with me when you're mom is in the hospital?" i asked him

"dad is with her naman, and besides gusto ni tita belle na samahan kita lagi dahil mahina iyang puso mo, bakit ba kasi ayaw mo pa magpaopera?"

"kian naman napag usapan na natin to diba? do not ever talk about my heart condition!"

he sighed, "yeah, yeah"

nang makarating kami sa bahay ay napansin kong nandoon ang kotse nila tito benj.

"Tito benj!"i hugged him "god i missed you!! Where's ate chantal?" i asked

"behind you!" i quickly turned around to see ate chantal carrying a boquet of flowers

"happy birthday, dany!"she hugged me

"thank you ate chantal, but my birthday is tomorrow pa"

"i know, i just want to greet you early" then she hugged me again

"wait lang tito,ate. tawagin ko si mama" inilagay ko ang flowers sa tble at umakyat papunta sa kwarto ni mama. pag pasok ko, i saw a beautiful pink dress on her bed at nasa loob pa ito ng box

i stared at it with awe because it's so beautiful!

"hey, love"my mama called me

"ma, this dress is so beautiful!" i said

"yeah? i want you to wear tomorrow at your debut" she said

"talaga?! omg thank you ma! i mean i like the blue gown but i like this more!"i hugged her

"oh, anjan nga pala sa baba si tito benj at ate chantal"

"okay" she said and left the room

kinuha ko aa box iyong pink gown, it's so beautiful that i can stare at it for hours! i can't believe im wearing this in my birthday!

gusto ko sang isukat kaso baka masira and i want my birthday to be perfect. so binalik ko nalang yung gown sa box and went down stairs

when i got back nanduon na si tita shane.

"tita shane! bakit ngayon ka lang?" i asked her

"Well, your ate chantal left so much work sa office so i need to cover for it" she saighed at tumingin kay ate

"Oops, sorry mom. i was just excited to get flowers for dany" ate chantal pouted

"psh, palusot ka pa ha!"

after more talking and eating, mom talked about tita criza

"Nakakaawa si criza, i can't even visit her sa hospital dahil sobrang busy ko" mama said

"Me, too. i really need to clear up ny schedule para naman mabisita ko siya."

"i'll clear my schedule too, kian and joao need a break. Pwede naman na ako or tayo muna ang magbantay kay criza sa hospital"

pagtungtong ng 8 pm, everyone is now in their rooms, pati ang mga katulong.

i decided to sneak in my mama's 'forbided room' i'm not allowed to go there and neityer the maids. si mama lang talaga ang nakakapasok doon dahil nasakaniya ang susi, she wears it in her neck like a necklace. every month kung pumunta si mama doon, and i'm still wondering kung ano ba talaga ang mayroon doon. I already tried to go there before pero pinagalitan ako ni mama, she tolde i can only go there kapag matanda na ako.

pagdating sa basement, i quickly looked for the door through her forbiden room at nakita ko naman iyon kaagad. i tried to pick the lock pero away bumukas, but then i saw mama coming down the stairs of the basement kaya nagtago kaagad ako sa lilod nung malaking salamin katabi nung pinto.

I stayed quiet, may dalang flash light si mama, she can open the light naman. she took the key from her necklace and opened the door, pumasok siya pero hindi niya ito sinara ng maayos.

it took minutes bago ako nakarinig ng may nag-uusap. so i came closer at nakinig

"It's her birthday tomorrow" mama said, sinong kausap niya??

"I wish i could spend some time with her kahit maikli lang. but it's impossible" i heard a deep man's voice! who is she talking to? at bakit dito sa basement?!

"Soon, love. Very soon" my mama said. i gasped and nearly fall out of balance pero buti nalang nakahawak ako sa gilid ng frame ng salamin, although it made a loud sound kaya paniguradong narinig iyon ni mama and nung lalaking kausap niya! i ran sa fast as i can hanggang sa makarating ako sa kwarto ko

What the hell was i thinking?! Pag nalaman ito ni mama, for sure i'll be grounded! when i hear a knock from my door, kaagad akong nahiga sa kama ko and pretended to sleep. naramdaman ko si mama na nakatingin lang saakin but then she touched my hair and whispered, "You'll find out soon, danylle"
