🥀"I love you. I will always love you."🥀
Kenma gently settled Kuroo down on a makeshift mat that was built in the small supplies closet. Kuroo looked around in slight confusion. The little closet was decorated with video game posters and fairy lights along the walls. Why were those there? Kuroo shifted his gaze over to the medium sized bookcase that was stationed in the corner of the room. It's shelves were littered with snacks of all types, with a couple drink bottles too, all of them untouched.
"Would you like a snack or something? I have plenty as you can see," Kenma whispered, focusing his eyes on Kuroo's hands rather than his face.
"No. I'm fine, thank you. Just-" Kuroo words trailed off as he opened his arms. Now, Kuroo knew he was a big guy. He had always been one of the larger ones, along with Asahi, Lev, and many others. But as Kenma got down onto the ground, and wrapped his arms around the giant, Kuroo had never felt smaller.
"Do what you need to do," Kenma sighed. To a stranger, the sigh would've sounded like one of annoyance. But Kuroo knew better. It was a sigh of relief and acceptance. Kenma accepted that Kuroo wasn't okay, and he would do whatever he needed to do in order to keep him healthy.
Kuroo took the sigh as his okay signal, and attempted to slowly let himself fall apart. It started off as slow, heavy breaths, but it proceeded no further. Kenma swore to himself mentally. 'Dammit. He's still holding it in. Why?'
The blonde released the breath he was unconsciously holding and tilted Kuroo's head up. The third year's eyes were squinted shut, and his face was torn into a look of anguish. The expression of agony made Kenma shiver. A migraine.
Kenma reacted as quickly as possible, reaching over to the bookcase and grabbing a coke. He then grabbed his bag he kept in the closet and searched through the miscellaneous bottles of pills until he found the best medicine suitable for the job. Finally he switched off all the lights in the room before settling back on the ground next to his childhood friend, who was now curled into a ball on the floor.
"Kuroo, listen to me. I know you're in pain. But I need you to sit up and place your head on my lap. I'll take care of you." Kenma spoke very softly, barely even audible. He didn't want to be too loud and make the migraine worse.
Kuroo obeyed to the best of his ability and forced his body to move. He collapsed into Kenma's lap and made a noise that sounded similar to a child. A vulnerable child who was in an immense amount of pain.
Kenma brushed his hands through the raven's ink black hair as he parted his lips with his thumb.
"This is just some pain medicine. Okay?"
Kuroo shot a sharp breath through his nose as an okay, and Kenma caught the hint. He slipped the pill into Kuroo's mouth and gentle poured some soda into his mouth behind it.
"Swallow." Kenma stated, face flushing as he realized how dirty that command sounded.
"Now rest. I'll let Akaashi know what's going on." Kenma assured him. He didn't expect a response, so he pulled out his phone and quickly turned down the brightness. He shot a quick message to Akaashi, also telling him to stay with Bokuto, and he slipped the phone back into his pocket.
The setter leaned his back against the wall, and allowed sleep to take over his consciousness. Everything would be okay soon.
