Aku

Six days and already my family is changing.
Six goddamn days ...

I don't know what's worse, the fact that my sister has a mate, which we thought none of us would, or the fact that I want to bite his head off.

One thing is for sure: She's safer here with him than running around the country with us. That's a hard pill to swallow.

Today he wants to meet up with me in some remote location in the woods that should be fucking interesting. It might be just a plan to kill me or bury me alive in a casket while he runs off with my little sister into the sunset.

I'd usually have Geo accompany me, but he's too distraught over Elle, and I won't tear him away from her for this.

I get out of bed and grab my flannel. It's about the time I start making breakfast for Luna. She isn't old enough yet to stay in the pack house with Neoma and Matt, so she's staying here until she's of age. I peek inside the primary suite of the house where Geo is staring out the window. "how are you feeling?" He looks up. "I don't know... numb, I guess." he turns back and watches the trees away through the breeze. "I'm going to make some breakfast. Do you want any?" He shakes his head and stares down at his ring; although they couldn't have an official wedding, Geo and Elle found two rings at a thrift shop that they wore as if they were married. It's admirable the love they share for each other reminds me of my parents sometimes.

I head into the kitchen, where Luna is drawing a picture at the table. I look over at her drawing. "Whatcha you got there?" She looks up and smirks. " I keep imagining a pretty field, so I'm drawing it out." Luna only turned ten a few months ago, but we've noticed her gifts from early on. She's remarkable. I'm not quite sure what her gift exactly is, but the older she gets, the stronger it becomes.

I start making the bacon pancakes she loves so much, although I have to say I'm not quite the chef like Elle.

"You don't have to worry, you know," I crack and raise my eyebrow at her. "worry about what?" She continues to draw, "he isn't gonna try anything; he just wants to talk ... he's scared like you are." I stopped what I was doing. "what makes you say that?"

She looks up at me with her big sea foam eyes. "I saw it," she goes back to her drawing. I finish with breakfast and get Luna ready for school. I take her to the pack house so she can ride the bus with her new friends.

I start the hike to meet the pup; after what Luna told me, I feel less eager to kill him. It's a relief he's taken this seriously, but that doesn't mean I trust him.

After a short hike, I reached the creek he described. I can smell his scent close by and follow it. He's leaning against a tree with his arms folded. I keep my distance in case I change my mind about ending him. "Thanks for meeting me." I stare him down, trying to read him.

"what do you want?" He unfolds his arms and tucks his thumbs in his front pockets

"a truce ... I don't wanna lose her, I can't lose her, and if that means that we work together as equals, so be it "The look in his eyes showed me the depth of his admiration for Neoma the fear radiates off his body when he thinks about losing her.

"Fine, but you have to trust us regarding these rogues. We escaped their grasp for ten years, but it wasn't without sacrifice." He nods

"We'll coordinate with my father on the best action plan. Until then, your family is welcome into our pack." I guess he's matured in the last few days. I might not like him, but I might eventually, down the very long road ahead, trust him. Turn away, walking back to the house ...

Matt

The world stops

My heartbeat somehow syncs with his

Possibilities of our life together flood my mind

His scent warms me like hot chocolate on a cold winter's day...

I want to be everything for him
His lover
His best friend
His diary
His peace
Everything

Before I could say a word, he grabbed my waist, kissing me tenderly. I feel myself melting into his arms as the sensation radiates through my body as each kiss intensifies. He pushes me against the wall, pressing his body against mine.

My wolf jumps in excitement more. I want more he howls

I bite his lower lip while gliding my hand over his trousers, which are already stiff for me ...

"We should stop," I whisper, breathless; he leans his forehead against mine and lets out a slight growl. "You're right," he swallows hard and moves away from me. We stare at each other momentarily, and he starts to chuckle. "I didn't think I'd meet you." he brushes his fingers through his hair. "I didn't think I'd ever meet you either." we start laughing. I'm not entirely sure why; I guess because of disbelief that this happened or that we weren't destined to be alone forever.

He walks up to me and kisses my forehead. "I'll see you at breakfast," he smirks and walks out of the bathroom, leaving me with my thoughts.

I trace the feeling of his hands over my body

Damn, this is going to be fun ...
