•"I don't know what to feel."
Sean was leaned against the hood of the car. The headlights of the car lighting up his page enough for him to see it.
He doodled in his notebook.
Sean looks up from his notebook at the empty space where Arcadia Bay should be. It was pitch black.
"Should I be mad? My dreams are confusing and I hate not understanding it." He wrote. "I want to talk to Honey about it, but too awkward."
He looked at Honey, who still slept in the car.
"Wonder what Arcadia Bay was like." He wouldn't mind living in a small town, away from everyone. He shakes this thought—there was nobody to live away from.
He could imagine Daniel's excitement if they lived there. He'd be asking during the summer to go swimming in the ocean. Maybe dad would work in a fancy mechanic shop.
Sean feels a tear roll down his cheek.
He closes his notebook, pressing his palm to his forehead.
It hurt so much. He wish he could talk about it, so it wont be as hurtful as it was right now. He didn't know how, even if he did: what would he say?
He inhales shakily through his gritted teeth, tears falling on his sweater collar.
The sky grumbles, the stars hidden behind thick black clouds.
Everything seemed so wrong and unnatural to Sean.
"Sean?"
Sean doesn't look at Honey, instead rushing to wipe his tears.
"You have the worst timing to wake up." Sean scoffs, trying to hide the shakiness in his voice. Tears are still running down his face.
"I do." Honey yawns quietly, not noticing the mood Sean was in. She reaches for Sean's hand.
She feels dampness on his sweater sleeve, looking down at it. "Are you—are you okay?"
"No," Sean breathes out, adding a sad breathy laugh. He keeps his eyes on the ground.
"Do you want to talk?" Honey asks, her voice soft and calm.
"I just—" Sean inhales deeply, trying to rid of the sadness evident in his voice. "I miss everyone."
Honey watches as he wipes his eyes with his opposite sleeve.
"My dad, my brother." His voice cracks, his tears not stopping. "Lyla."
Honey sits in silence, holding onto his hand.
"Where are we even going, Honey?" Sean turns to Honey, getting angry. He has a little fire in his eyes.
Honey turns to where Arcadia Bay sat in the dark. "I don't know."
"You don't know?" Sean scoffs, turning the other way. "Bullshit."
"Sean, calm down." Honey says. She looks up as a drop of water lands on her face.
