Sean liked her.

He looked at Honey, who wore a smile as she was telling a story about her bunny named Hubert.

"I'm not sure if Hubert was made-up, and I was just hallucinating from the drugs." Honey laughs, keeping her eyes on the road. She frowns. "It felt real when he took a shit on my lap."

Sean's eyes widen and he bursts into a small laugh. "Dude, I would've threw it."

Honey shrugs, looking at Sean from the corner of her eye. "I considered it a lot of times." Honey snickers. "My mom used to sneak him in so I could see him in the hospital."

Sean blinks, staring at Honey's face that was turned to the road. "It's most likely he was a hallucination." He turns to the road himself.

They were on the road once again, towards no set destination. Sean had mentioned his grandparents lived around this area, and they could slowly check the town they lived in.

Sean nervously rubs the back of his neck, looking toward Honey. She could never like him back.

He wished he could just stop liking her. Because she sees him as a child of some sort. Maybe if he was—

"You look sad, Sean." Honey says, glancing at Sean. One of the perks of spending all day with him is that she could easily tell his moods apart. "A penny for your thoughts."

"It's just the usual." He lies, biting the inside of his cheek. "I might just sleep so I can, y'know-"

"Visit them." Honey nods, understanding.

Sean was already thinking of ways he could try to distract himself from the fact that he liked Honey more than friends.

"I always feel so bad for wanting to leave you." Sean smiles sadly to himself.

"Don't worry Sean. If I could dream of them, I would never be awake myself." Honey nods. "I understand if you spend more time sleeping."

"Thanks." Sean says, turning to look outside the open window. He wanted to sleep. To dream.

He pulls on his hood and adjusts himself so he could sleep. The soft sounds of the wind passing by the car and the soft song playing in the background calmed him enough so he could sleep.

Honey smiles. Sean was adorable. He always looked so peaceful sleeping.

Honey hums along to a song playing over the speakers. She recognized it, as she was a fan of the band who made this song.

"Up on melancholy hill," Honey sings softly, filling the quiet air with her singing. "There's a plastic tree."

Her ex was the reason why she loved this band. The memories she had attached to this song hurt, she could feel tears welling in her eyes.

"Just looking out on the day of another dream." The car speakers sang out. Honey swallowed the lump in her throat.

No. She needed to be strong. For Sean.

She glances at the sleeping boy, her eyes blurry with tears. She wonders what he was dreaming about.
