"Holy fuck are those chock-o-crisps?"

They were at an empty gas station, the lights off. They both held flashlights as they explored the inside of it.

Sean shook his head. Daniel would kill for these.

Honey grabs a handful of chocolate bars and stuffs them into her pocket.

"It would be cool to be here if there was people." Sean says, shining the light on the cash register. "Maybe a little old man would be standing here."

"Mmm, no. A little old lady would be standing there." Honey says, stepping over plants. "She'd be mean." She scrunches her nose.

"How do you know?"

Honey smirks. "Because I know everything." She grabs a can of mac and cheese. "I bet her husband would carve bears or some shit."

"Carve bears? What the hell does that mean?"

She shines the light at the little bear keychains by the cash register. It was carved with wood.

"Holy fuck." He laughs in pitch higher than his. "Who has time to make these?" He picks one off the rack they were on.

"Old people." Honey shrugs.

Sean steps out from behind the counter, his flashlight moving around the room.

"Since you know everything, who would sit here?" Sean sits on a rotten plastic chair tucked in the corner.

"Only people who travel for a living." Honey looks at Sean with a 'duh' look on her face.

They lock eyes for a second before bursting out in laughter. They only needed each other for entertainment.

Sean wondered how he ever met Honey at that park that week ago, what if he let his shyness overcome him and they never approached each other? He feels like he'd be in Seattle still, looking for any sign of life.

"Have you ever noticed that all the clocks stopped at 7:45? Creepy."

"I did, it's weird."

Honey looks over her shoulder. "What if that's when everyone disappeared?"

Sean stands up from the chair and makes his way towards Honey.

"That's creepy. So everyone just—vanished? All at the same time?"

Honey nods. "I really wish I didn't go to sleep that night." Honey sighs. "Maybe I could've saw what happened to all the people."

Sean puts a hand onto her shoulder.

"You didn't know that everyone would disappear." Sean says softly. Honey smiles at him.

"Thank you, Sean." She grabs Sean's hand and entwines their fingers.

"We should get going." Sean suggests. They saw a few parked cars outside, so they were going to pick one with the highest tank.
