Betty stayed at Jughead's that night after letting her mother know. They cuddled up until after midnight and then slowly fell asleep in each other's arms. The next morning Betty woke up to the smell of pancakes and no Jughead beside her. She was wearing one of Jughead's t-shirts which reached mid thigh for her and her hair was opened up from the tightened ponytail. She walked down to the kitchen and wrapped her arms around Jughead's waist from behind him.

" Good morning beautiful! How did you sleep?", asked Jughead.

Betty blushed as she answered," Nice...why weren't you in bed? I could've made breakfast."

" I am sorry for not being there when you woke up but I was going to surprise you with breakfast in bed with my world famous pancakes."

" Oh well then, I am sorry for ruining your surprise."

" We apologize a little too much don't we?"

Betty nodded at that while giggling, the sound that filled Jughead's heart. He plated the pancakes and served them with maple syrup. They dug into their food and looked at each other every now and then smiling. While Betty didn't have any thoughts while she was looking at him, Jughead had his thoughts. When Betty was telling her story and how much it hurt he felt a pain in his heart. Something he had never felt before. He had gotten extremely confused but didn't tell Betty about it as she didn't know about his little condition. He didn't know why it happened but got scared that what if there was something wrong with him. He made a mental note to ask his father about it and then continued just looking at his girlfriend.
They both finished eating pretty quickly and kept the dishes in place in the sink. They then went to Betty's house and found the house empty. Betty had gone up to her bathroom to brush her teeth when their doorbell rang. Jughead, who was going through his phone, got up and opened the door. In front of him stood the one and only Trevor Brown with flowers in his hand.

Jughead got furious and was going to slam the door on his face but then heard a sweet voice call out his name," Jug?"

He two boys shifted their eyes in order to see Betty and that's when Betty noticed the unwanted guest at their house. Her smiling face turned into an angry face, something Jughead had never seen before. She froze on the staircase where she was coming down from as Trev cleared his throat.

" Hi Lizzie.", Trev said.

Betty scrunched her face as she hated the name and then said," It's Betty for you Trevor."

Jughead had never heard Betty speak in such a tone and was proud of her. She moved up to Jughead and stood beside him.

" What do you went Trevor?", Betty asked in the same tone.

" I um wanted to apologize for being a jerk all those years ago."

" It's been eight years... why now?"

" Well I couldn't face you after what I had done, you know. Not believing you. And um...I haven't come back to Riverdale until yesterday."

Betty sighed and then said knowing she would regret her decision," Come in."

Jughead was shocked at her words but didn't question it. He moved from the door to let Trev come in, not missing out an opportunity to give Trev a death glare. They all sit on the couch as Trev stares at Jughead for a while.

" Oh I'm...I want to talk to you privately, Liz- Betty."

Jughead was going to speak up but Betty interrupted him and said, " Whatever you want to tell me you will say it in front of Jughead."

Trev nodded at that and continued," I know what you said is true but back in high school I was bullied for not doing something the 'jock way'. I never liked it but football was my only way of getting a scholarship. Anyways, Chuck told me everything he did to you and I was truly horrified. You have to believe me that I never allowed Chuck to do anything like that. He then also told me to deny everything you say about the incident if you ever open up to me so that he doesn't get suspended or worse. That's why all that happened..."

Betty was shocked by what she had just heard and didn't want to believe it but she knew Trev wasn't that bad to lie about something like that. She stayed silent, taking in everything she had just heard. She knew that non jock people were bullied at their school but even within the team... Jughead wrapped his arms around her comforting her as she eased onto him.

Trev looked at them and cleared his throat again to get their attention," I have to go now but I just wanted to apologize and tell the truth. I am really sorry for everything."

Trev was about to leave when Betty spoke up," Why are you still friends with Chuck?"

Trev turned around and answered," I stopped being his friend after our break up. I met him yesterday after a while and he wanted to talk to me. I don't wanna go into all the details but we aren't friends anymore. We haven't been for the last 8 years."

" But if u weren't his friend...what about your scholarship?", Betty questioned.

" I didn't get it. But I did get a scholarship through my music, so everything went better I guess."

With that he left leaving Betty shocked and Jughead looking at Betty, trying to find a way to comfort her.
