Twenty One

Betty was still uncertain about where they were going. At one point the went through some tunnel and she was almost ready to run away but Jughead told her it was a mistake as he had never gone to this place by car. Soon the car stopped near Sweetwater River and Betty smiled big at Jughead as this was her favorite area in Riverdale.

She asked," Did you know hat I really liked this place? Or did you just randomly bring me here maybe because you like it too?"

Jughead responded," Honestly, Kevin told me how much you like this place and it is really beautiful. It's hard not to love this place."

Betty smiled at Jughead's response and looked the scenery around her. Jughead took out a mat from the trunk of his car and set it on the ground.

Betty looked confused and asked," What are we doing here exactly?"

" We are gonna see one of the most beautiful sunsets from here. "

Betty stared at Jughead in awe and then looked at the sun that was still up. Jughead sat down and looked at Betty who was still observing the things around her.

She then sat down and said, You know, after all these years in Riverdale I have never seen the sunset on Sweetwater River or ever been to this side of the river."

Jughead exclaimed in surprise," Wait really! I came here mostly because our next destination is pretty close."

Betty nodded to that and Jughead got up again to get a camera. He sat back down and saw Betty confused while looking at the camera.
He explained," Oh this isn't mine. I left mine at New York. This sweet thing is Toni's. She only lent it to me cuz this is the first date I am going on after years. Otherwise she's pretty possessive of this."

" Well it does look like a thing to be possessive about. Does it feel weird to you that none of us have been on dates for so long but for two completely different reasons but also we both are afraid to get hurt?"

Jughead stared at Betty in awe. She wasn't totally correct as he never felt things like hurt or pain but she was partially correct. He knew that if he could feel pain like a normal person then he would've been scared to get hurt. There were about 3 girls who broke his heart but he never once was devastated about it. Maybe they weren't the right ones but to him it was always the fact that pain was nothing to him.
He nodded at Betty not wanting to share his disability of showing or expressing pain. It was unfair as Betty had already told him about her worst thing but he just wasn't ready. No one knew about this except for the few occasions his mother caught on but he completely denied her accusations.
The sun soon started descending and Jughead took some pictures of it. It looked beautiful. His gaze suddenly shifted to the blonde beauty beside him and started shifting his position so he could take a picture of her looking at the sunset while it was reflecting on her. The picture came out perfectly, as though she was in a photoshoot. By the time the sun had completely set and it became dark, Betty was snuggled up on Jughead while he was playing with her hair. Neither of them wanted to move from their position but Betty removed her head ever so slowly from Jughead's biceps. Jughead took this opportunity to show Betty the photo he had taken and Betty looked at it surprised.

" You are a really amazing photographer Jug. It looks so beautiful."
" Well I used to do a lot of photography in New York but there is something I learnt from my experience. A photograph can't be perfect if the person or the object in it isn't equally as perfect and beautiful."
Betty blushed a crimson red at that while standing up so that Jughead could pick up the mat. They went back the car and drove to the next destination to complete their date.

A/N I am so very sorry for not posting and also sorry for dragging their date into so many chapters but like I really want their date to be a little elaborate and romantics so yeah...
