Chapter 9

STEVES POV

Within the blink of an eye, all of the lights went out.

"Alright c'mon guys get me eyes on Barnes!" Ross said into his walkie talkie. I looked to Sharon who know what I needed to do.

"Sublevel 5, east wing." She instructed, and Sam and I rushed out of the room.

BUCKYS POV

"What the hell is this?" I asked.

"Let's hope your little girlfriend can survive without the machine helping her heart beat." He said to me.

"What?" I asked, panicked. I thought she was fine...

"Why don't we discuss your home. Not Romania, certainly not Brooklyn, no...I mean, your real home." He said, pulling out a red notebook with a star on it. Oh fuck...

"Желание" (longing) He started.

"no..."I whispered. My head hit the back of the seat I was in. it was the first word and I could already feel it.

Y/Ns POV

When all the lights went out, that's when I saw my window. I yanked my hand free of the handcuffs and jumped out of the bed. The nurses ran away but the guards put their guns up. I kicked one guard in the balls and he went down then I grabbed his gun and shot at the other 2 guards in the room. I slammed my knee into the first guards nose and knocked him out cold. I ropped the IV out of my arm and grabbed my clothes. I changed out of the gown and felt a lot more comfortable. I ran down the hall and found the stairs. After I ran down the first two flights I ran into Steve and his friend.

"Steve." I said.

"Y/N." He replied.

"Where's Bucky?" I asked. Both of them looked at my stomach, seeming very concerned.

"WHERE'S BUCKY?" I repeated.

"Follow us." Steve said.

BUCKYS POV

"Семнадцать" (Seventeen)

"Stop." I begged, even though I knew he wouldn't listen.

"Ржавый" (Rusted) I felt my metal arm rewire. It hasn't done that in so long.

"Stop." I growled.

"Рассвет" (Daybreak). I felt a surge go through my whole body, making me scream out and rip my metal arm out of the chair, and the rest of my body followed

"Печь...Девять...Добросердечный" (Furnace, nine, benign) As he read these words, I was trying to break myself out by punching the glass door in front of me.

"Возвращение на Родину...Один...Товарный вагон" (homecoming, one, freight car) On the last word he read, the door flew off the hinges and I landed on the ground outside of the cage. As I rose to my feet, he kept his eyes on me.

"Soldat." He said.
"готов подчиниться" (ready to comply), I stated.

"Mission report. December 16, 1991." He said.

Y/Ns POV

We made it down to the east wing of sub level five and every guard was either dead or knocked out, and Bucky wasn't there.

"Help me.." we heard someone groan. Steve ran over to him and shoved him against the wall.

I walked behind Sam when suddenly he was dodging a punch. It was Bucky, but not the Bucky I knew. He punched Sam in the stomach and then flung him across the room.

"Steve.." I said walking backwards as Bucky came walking towards me now. I ducked and the punch Bucky threw was now being blocked by steve. Bucky was fighting like I've never seen before. He was really trying to kill Steve. They fought all the way to the elevator at the end of the hall and then Bucky pushed him through the metal doors and Steve fell down the shaft.

"NO!" I yelled. Bucky looked back at me with no emotion in his eyes and just walked away. Like he didn't even know me. The man questioning him went along with Bucky. I went over and helped Sam up.

"That's not Bucky anymore." Sam groaned.

"What do you mean?" I asked, panicked.

"That's the winter soldier." He said. My heart sunk, I didn't even know how to respond. Sam then looked behind me and saw that the man was getting away.

"Hey!" Sam called out to him, and then he ran off. Sam and I took after him. We followed him up the stairs as fast as we could. Then, I saw the entrance to the lobby and saw a bunch of people evacuating the building. Sam kept running, but I dipped into the lobby. I saw Bucky fighting anyone and everyone that got in his way. I then saw Tony Stark hiding behind a concrete pillar. I didn't know where to go or what to do so I just stood behind a table. Then I saw Tony blast Bucky with something and Bucky nearly fell down. Then Tony started to fight Bucky and take his gun. But, as I saw coming, Bucky rebutted and knocked Tony to the ground. I felt my blood start to boil. I then saw a blonde woman come out of nowhere, followed by a red head. Once he slammed the blonde one through the table I made a run for it and stood behind him a couple feet away.

"BUCKY!" I yelled. He turned around and stared at me.

"Please tell me you know me. Please don't do this." I said. He didn't say anything but he just started walking towards me, but not in a threatening way. His eyes went to my stomach and we stopped walking.

"It's Y/N, remember?" I asked. He looked up at me and I could finally see him trying to snap out of it. Suddenly the red head came up from behind and put him in a choke hold with her legs, causing Bucky to go back to full winter soldier mode.

"NO!" I yelled.

"Stand back." I heard someone say. It was the man from the tunnel. He then attacked Bucky, but Bucky threw him off of him with ease and climbed up the stairs. I then saw Sam again and he told me to come with him. I ran past the table I was standing behind and the top of it was melted...was that me?
