Revelations

"W-what?" I was stuttering already! "What h-happened?"

My tears were starting to form on the corners of my eyes. I'm nervous. Really, really, really nervous, but why? I mean, Phoenix is really important to me, of course. I love that kid. But the last time I felt this kind of tension was when Scarlet was rushed in the hospital.

[He... has a dengue. K-kahapon ko pa alam—]

"Why didn't you tell me?!" Anger filled my body. Di ko na alam kung saan ko hinuhugot ang galit ko.

"Baby?" Nathan caressed my back, trying to relax me but I can't.

Binaba ko na ang tawag at tumayo ako sa kama, naghanap ng damit na susuotin. Nathan looked confuse, but he did what I was doing too.

"What happened?" Nathan asked as he buckle his belt.

"Phoenix is in the hospital." I said, taking my bag and walked downstair.

Narinig ko ang nagmamadaling yapag niya sa likod ko. Nauna pa itong lumabas ng bahay. He started na car engine already and I hopped inside too. We drove our way to the hospital which Nicco owns.

"Did Ate Olivia told you what happened to him?"

I sighed, "Dengue."

There are lots of scenario that's running on my brain now. I keep on doing breathing exercises, but it just won't calm me down!

"Everything is going to be alright." Nathan held my hand and slightly squeezed it. I somehow relaxed me a bit with his words and his action.

As soon as Nathan parked the car, I opened the car door and head straight to the nurse station. The nurse was even shock with how I look. I saw my reflection on the glass top. A reflection of a worried woman. Messy hair, panting and pale as a ghost.

"Phoenix Pablova?" I said, tapping my fingers on the glass top.

"Uhhh... room 204 po, ma'am. Just press the pediatric floor button in the elevator."

Nathan was beside me us we walk to the room the nurse has said. My hands were cold. Nathan opened the door and I saw Livvy and Nicco there. Nicco was standing as he checks IV fluids. Livvy was sitting, holding Phoenix's hand.

And Phoenix... my poor baby boy.

They looked at the door and when Livvy saw us, she immediately stand and gave us a small smile. Nathan smiled back but I didn't, my face remained blank.

I sat at where Livvy was sitting a while ago. "How is he?" I looked at them with pleading eyes.

Livvy sighed. I was waiting for her to talk but she didn't so Nicco did the talking.

"He has dengue."

Dengue... Just like what happened to Scarlet. Why are these kids so prone to dengue?! Oh, God.

"For now we are still monitoring him. His platelet is currently 95, 000 and the normal is 150, 000. Let's pray that it won't go down to 25, 000 or else..." He glanced at Nathan and gave him a look. "Or else we'll be needing a blood transfusion."

"Will he be fine?" I said, my voice is laced with worried. I feel like his mom!

"Of course." Nicco gave me a sad smile. Nicco looked at Nathan and moved his head, gesturing Nathan to come with him. "We'll just go out."

I stood up and went to the bathroom and took a small bowl, filled it with warm water. Kinuha ko rin ang maliit na tuwalya na nasa hospital kit at pumunta sa tabi ni Phoenix. I carefully wiped his arms and neck. Binanlawan ko ang towel at nilagay sa noo nito at umupo na muna sa inuupuan ko kanina.
