ISABELLA BARGED INTO her father's study surprising the male hunter "you've been tracking the sacrifices and didn't even bother to tell me?"

miguel calavera looked at his daughter, his brows furrowing "pardon?"

"you know when i talked to you that night about being honest i actually expected you to do the same and not the opposite—" she threw the maps and papers filled with locations of the sacrifices and the telluric currents

her father glanced at it as isabella scoffed "look familiar? oh don't worry these aren't yours, i got them from chis argent but then i wondered how they look so familiar— then i realized they're the same maps i saw you studying here but when i asked you what it was you said it was nothing important"

"...well turns out they were important dad! scott's boss almost died because we took so long on finding him but turns out you had the answers all this time? why wouldn't you tell me about this? i thought we were a team?! i thought when we moved here you and me are gonna work together hunting these things!—"

the young huntress was interrupted when her father suddenly shouted at her "because i don't want you involved in these things anymore!"

she stopped, her eyes blinking at thr man in front of her "w-what?"

"bella you are seventeen years old and yet you are shouldering problems only i should be worrying about! i already regret letting your grandmother train you at such a young age but now that we don't follow her rules anymore— now that you actually have the chance to live a normal life doing normal teenager things, i want that for you.." miguel finally confessed to his daughter with a sigh

he stared down at his desk avoiding eye contact with her "the reason we moved here was to get away from all the supernatural but apparently we can't have that luxury—"

"so you just suddenly decided to do everything on your own?!" she exclaimed

he looked up at her "if it means giving you a normal life and separating you from danger then yes!"

she bit her bottom lip shaking her head feeling nothing but betrayal from her father, her father who was supposed to be always honest with her, her father who was the only family she had left.

"I'm sorry if i lied to you bella but it was the only way i could think of to give the life that you deserve..."

the young huntress scoffed stepping closer to her dad "you have got to stop taking whatever drug you've been inhaling dad— stop it, with all of these normal life bullshit. The minute i was born into this family, the minute i was called a calavera you should've already known that i was never going to have a normal life— i don't care if i can't do what normal teenagers do, i don't care if my very first memory was of abuella teaching me how to properly hold a gun, i don't care okay? This is my life and i'm fine with it— i like it because i'm good at it" she told him, her tone remaining strong the whole time

"i'm a hunter and i will always be one until the day i die— and no one can take that away from me not even you" isabella spoke to her father

miguel calavera nodded at her, feeling ashamed all of a sudden "so either we do this together or we do this apart, either way i will not stop protecting the people who can't do it themselves"

"i am so proud to call you my daughter" the older calavera told isabella walking closer to her and pulling her into a tight embrace

"you are brave and strong, i'm so sorry if i lost sight of that" he continued

isabella pulled away looking at her father "please promise me you won't hide any more secrets to me, i get that you're worried about me but i worry about you too"
