Before you guys read this chapter, I just really want to say that I'm really sorry for not posting this chapter sooner... I've just been really busy with making videos for my YouTube Channel as well as other personal stuff like school and other things like that. I hope to update every week but, no promises on that since I'm back in college now and I have classes every single day of the week...
Anyway, on with the chapter!!! Hope you guys enjoy!!!
It's been 2 days since we were in Omashu. Currently, we're flying over a large forested area that's covered in a thick fog and looks rather menacing. I sit next to Sokka who's rubbing a whetstone against his machete, sharpening it, while Katara is looking at one of her waterbending scrolls. I glance over at Aang to see him staring down at the trees, seeming to be in some sort of trance. "Hey, you taking us down for a reason?" Sokka asks Aang. Aang doesn't answer him. "Aang," Sokka calls again, breaking Aang out of his trance. "why are we going down?" he continues. "What?" Aang asks, confused. "I didn't even notice." he continues as Appa continues to descend towards the swamp below us. "Are you noticing now?" Sokka asks him.
"Is something wrong?" Katara asks as she comes up to stand next to Sokka, looking at Aang. "I know this gonna sound weird, but..." Aang starts as he continues to look down at the swamp with a slightly fierce expression. "I think the swamp is... calling to me." he finishes. "Is it telling ya where we can get something to eat?" Sokka asks, holding his stomach, which makes me to roll my eyes at him. "No, I... I think it wants us to land there." Aang answers. "No offense to the swamp," Sokka says. "but I don't see any land there to land on." he continues.
"I don't know..." Aang answers softly. "Bumi said to learn earthbending I would have to wait and listen, and now I'm actually hearing the earth." he says. "Do you want me to ignore it?" he asks my siblings and I. Katara, Sokka, Momo and I peer over the saddle to look down at the swamp as Appa continues to descend towards the swamp. "Yes!" Sokka and I answer at the same time. "I don't know... There's something ominous about that place." Katara says.
I continue to look down at the swamp, getting a weird feeling in my stomach. Momo chitters and Appa groans, making me get taken out of my trance. "See. Even Appa and Momo don't like it here." Sokka says. "Okay, since everyone feels so strongly about this..." Aang answers. "bye swamp." he continues before shaking the reins. "Yip! Yip!" he says, making Appa accelerate with a groan.
A moment later, I hear something behind us as we fly away. Having another twin moment, Sokka and I turn around at the same time, and our eyes bulge as we see what is pursuing us. "You better throw in an extra "yip"! We gotta move!" Sokka exclaims at the sight of the tornado coming straight for us.
Aang drives Appa trying to evade the tornado desperately, but the tornado is right on top of us, and we're not able to distance ourselves from it. As the tornado bears down on us, Sokka is blown off the saddle. Katara catches his arm and holds onto him tightly. As Sokka screams, Aang jumps into the saddle, beside Katara and I and creates an air bubble around us and Appa, just as we get sucked into the tornado. Sokka falls back into the saddle next to me as Aang struggles to keep the air bubble up to protect us from the tornado. All of a sudden, Aang's barrier collapses and we're all engulfed by the tornado, which throws us out in all different directions.
Sokka, Katara and I scream as we drop from the sky and into the muddy swamp water below. I emerge from the water with a gasp, spitting out the water from my mouth, disgusted by the taste of it. I get to my feet, just as Aang drops down using his airbending to cushion his fall. I look to my right to a person shaped shadow in the water, figuring it's Sokka.
A second later, Sokka raises from the water, rubbing his head and groaning. I walk over to him, giving him a hand to help him up. He takes it and I pull him up to his feet. "Where's Appa and Momo?" Aang asks us. Sokka, Katara and I look around us for a few seconds, looking for Appa and Momo, seeing no sign of them anywhere...
