"I Love you too." She smiled happily and hugged me tightly. "But Luce, there's so much I have to tell you, my life is full of a darkness I don't want to drag you into." Lucy gently caressed my face and her smile softened. "I'll listen to everything you have to say Natsu." I grabbed the hand that caressed my face and squeezed it softly. "Well My family, are actually the owners of Dragneel Inc. My parents decided to arrange a marriage with the youngest heiress of the Strauss family to strengthen their businesses. I strongly disagreed, I've only ever viewed her as a little sister. It would feel wrong to be with her. My father would hear nothing of it though. Since I've never had a serious relationship, father decided that this was the best way to secure an heir from me, as well as ensure the future of his company.  When I realized he wouldn't listen to me, I abandoned the family business and began my search for outside work. When I explained to the headmaster my situation, he was more than happy to help me. Which is how I ended up as a teacher." I looked at Lucy who was still sitting in my lap quietly listening to every word I said. Her expression hadn't changed from her soft smile. "That's not all the details, but it's been the most persistent problem. I really thought that Lisanna would understand how I feel but she's decided to side with our parents." Lucy hugged me once again. "It's okay Natsu, I'm here for you. No matter what secrets you have or what future events await, I'll be here for you." I squeezed her tightly and we sat in comfortable silence as the sun began to set. "Luce it might be a little soon, but I want to give you something." I reached into my pocket and pulled out the ring I bought earlier. "This is a symbol of my promise to always protect you, to always be your dragon king protecting the beautiful and valiant princess." She giggled and I slipped it on her finger. "This is a symbol of our feelings and my promise to devote my all to you and our future." I stood up, and pulled her up with me. We stood quietly watching the setting sun.
As darkness took over I pulled her gently, leading her back to my bike. "Let's go, it's getting late. We should probably get you back home." We reluctantly climbed on my bike and took off. The cool breeze flowing wildly around us.
We arrived quickly to Lucy's house. As we approached the door, I became more and more reluctant to let her go. I held her hand tightly and looked into her beautiful brown eyes. "Why don't you stay here tonight?" She suddenly blurted out. "What?" I questioned. "Levy is staying the night with coach Redfox tonight, and Juvia said that she has a date and won't be back until tomorrow. If being seen is your concern..." "NO not at all. It's just....umm....are you sure?" She pulled my hand urging me inside and smiled happily. I followed without restraint. Happily being led around by my sweet princess. Before I realized it we were standing in front of her door. She quickly opened it and pulled me inside. "Do you mind?"  She asked plopping on her bed. I cautiously sat down next to her. "Of course not."
