Chapter 20

HERMIONES POV

Nobody's seen Evie since transfiguration yesterday, granted it's only 8:00 and classes don't begin till 9, and Evie usually comes to breakfast with Draco half an hour before classes begin.

But something is off about today, typically Evie would come to the Gryffindor common room every day for varying lengths of time, or she'd at least pop her head through the portrait hole and say hi to us all, and things didn't get much better when Draco had come to ask us where Evie was as he hadn't seen her since their last class together and if we had done or knew of something to or that happened to Pansy as she was very subdued and seemed to be in a state of permanent shock

*back to yesterday when Draco approached Hermione*

"GRANGER" I heard someone call from behind me, I was confused and simply brushed it off and carried on my way

"GRANGERR"

" I SWEAR TO MERLIN IF YOU DON'T TURN AROUND RIGHT NOW GRANGER"

I stopped and turned around to see none other than Draco Malfoy red in the face from running and bellowing at me from down the halls running towards me before coming to a dead stop- on his arse.

"Umm... do you want some help?" I asked with a hint of passive aggression

"Now that would be oh so nice of you Granger " he responded sarcastically, I begrudgingly helped the Slytherin up off the halls floor.

"Now would you be so kind as to enlighten me as to why you're either red in the face and screaming 'GrANGeR' or running through the halls of Hogwarts and proceeded to fall on your arse infront of me? Preferably both. And make it quick" I mock him lightly for his previous actions, I would have mocked him a little bit more but he's Evie's best friend so the ferret has to have a fraction of my respect I suppose?

"Ok Granger no need to be sarcastic about it .. it's Evie, nobody's seen her since Transfiguration I've talked to everyone I can think of: Harry, I tried Pansy but then again she just seems to be permanently shocked right now?, Cedric, Fred and George, I don't need to ask Weasel seeing as he hates Everlosts guts, Ginny and now you.. nobody's seen her" he responded, barely breathing in between words

Oh no.

"Where could she have gone? There's no way that she could have disappeared into thin air!" I wasn't even bothered that he had called Ron Weasel, though he did say the rest of the Weasley's names... that's a change

"I have absolutely no idea, I assumed she'd be with you but I just couldn't find you anywhere so I asked whoever I saw- Blaise is running around outside looking for her, Crabbe and Goyle are useless as always and probably stuffing their face somewhere"

"Ok I'll hell you look"

*Back to Regular time 👍🏼*

Still no sign of the short Slytherin, we had searched the school high and low for her and eventually we had to head to our classes- First we had charms with Ravenclaw
I don't know who I was sat next to but when I asked them whether or not they had seen Evie anywhere since she seems to be friends with everyone from every house so maybe they would know where she was or could point me in the right direction of where to look, they went on to say they saw the short Slytherin hanging out with Luna Lovegood and that "when I want up to my dorm to sleep the two were still laughing in the common room between the book cases talking about stupid things like nargles- whatever those are, I hope that helps I don't know much more than that I'm sorry, I hope you find her though. When Evie came into the common room she seemed quite upset about something" I thanked them quickly and allowed my mind to go wild thinking about where she could go or have gone.
