"Hey, Kit!" Evelyn chirps, skipping down the hallway and stopping at my locker.
"Hey, Evie!" I smile.
"Olivia Rodrigo just came out with a new song last night!" I cheer.
"I know! I listened to it as soon as it came out!" she bubbled. "And every single lyric of the song just points to Joshua Bassett! And just the way he looks at her, and she looks at him! Oh, they have to like each other!" I beam, stuffing books in my backpack.
"I know, right! I seriously can't wait for season two of High School Musical, The Musical; The Series to come out! Tim Federle said that Nini and Ricky are gonna be closer! Which means that Olivia and Joshua will be closer!" she beams, and we squeal.
The bell rings, "Oh, shoot! We're gonna be late! Let's go! C'mon!" I warn, and Evelyn and I sprint down the hall and make it to homeroom just in time.
"Kit Moore and Evelyn Choi, you both are late." Mrs. Russo states as Evelyn and I rush into the classroom.
Mrs. Russo looks up at the clock, "It's 8:06. You're late." Mrs. Russo declares.
"Actually, Mrs. Russo, we both stepped foot into the classroom at 8:05. The time changed just as soon as you started talking." Evelyn speaks.
Mrs. Russo looks at Evelyn with fire in her eyes, "Is that so?" she questions, turning to the rest of the kids at their desks. Children in the classroom nod, "Well then, go have a seat girls." Mrs. Russo instructs and, Evelyn and I walk to our desk. Now that was a close one!
