WARNING: There's a graphic scene ahead which I shouldn't say anything about because it'll spoil the chapter, but just a warning- it gets pretty graphic.

Louis’s POV

That night is spent in a slight blur for me, to the point where I just let people guide me around places whilst I recover from the shock. Gemma says that’s what I’m doing. Really, I’m trying to absorb everything whilst Harry’s not with me. I’m not sure of the appropriate questions to ask him that wouldn’t be classed as prying. Is it wrong that he didn’t tell me about this? Why didn’t he tell me about this? I’m not even so sure what about this needs to be told to me.

I don’t sleep. Closing my eyes is a big necessity for sleep yet every time I tried I saw that vampire’s face and what he was doing to the woman… I couldn’t get it out of my head. That was the frustrating part. I was screaming in annoyance every time I saw his face. Cassie had to come in halfway through the night and held me while she slept because Harry wasn’t there as he was still tracking the vampire. She didn’t say a word to me, simply just wrapped her arms around my waist and let me listen to the soft snores coming from her.

It was around six when I decided to get up. Cole was already up, and after informing him that I was going out for a run he made the claim to come with me and make sure I got on safely. Of course I didn’t let him, I made the claim that I just needed to be by myself for a while. It was the fact he believed that line that was the problem. I feel after last night everyone has been a shocked version of themselves since it happened. I heard Gemma muttering to herself that they should’ve been more careful on my way out.

After five agonisingly long miles of not knowing where I was going, I made the decision to go back. Just as well because when I got back I found Harry practically ready to tear Cole’s hair off when I got there. The fact they hadn’t heard me open the door made me know Harry was seriously pissed and Cole was seriously sick of him.

“Yeah? You think last night was easy for me Cole? I haven’t been able to focus all night knowing that he was here without me and now I find out you basically don’t give a shit whether or not he’s protected!” Harry screamed in his face heatedly. I frown at the way he’s got Cole’s shirt in his hands and the way Molly’s rolling her eyes at both of them. I see her mumble something under her breath but I don’t manage to catch it.

Shutting the door loudly behind me, I take in all of their relieved faces as they came. “I’m here. You can stop your worrying and threatening.” I’m sure from that I would’ve gotten a slap in the face from all of them if I wasn’t the only mortal one in the room.

“Where have you been?” Molly asked, I was expecting more of a harsh tone than what I got, which I’m assuming is from the look of exhaustion she’s clearly making known.

“I told you. I was going out for a run.” I replied dryly back to her, not breaking eye contact as I knew I was about to get an earful.

“Nice timing, thank you for deciding to expose yourself to the town whilst we’re looking for a killer who so happens to be dead already; clearly the logic is overflowing today.” Molly says before walking out of the room, bumping Harry’s shoulder while she does so. I don’t want to comment upon the fact that Harry hasn’t shown me any sort of contact since I came in, he’s only just stared at me as if he wasn’t sure whether or not I’d have eventually came home or not.

“It’s good that your back Louis!” Gemma announces, catching my attention in doing so. I see everyone visibly relax as the tension is taken away from the room that it had been occupying as soon as I walked in. “Now everyone can properly discuss what we’re going to do about the vampire.”
