Constant Temptation - Chapter Eleven (Part One)

Louis’s POV.

I am not a believer. I was taught that people are born, they grow old and then die. That is what I believe- what I’ve always believed. I’ve experienced people I know and people I don’t know dying of tragic causes, and some simple, like old age. I know no other way of life. So why does Harry telling me he’s a vampire make so much sense to me?

He’s asking me how I got here. Why is he asking me how I got here? He just told me he’s a vampire and he’s asking me how I got here. I want to slap him. For a vampire, would that hurt? Would he feel anything at all? Hopefully, he’d feel some sort of emotional pain at being slapped in the face by someone he’s definitely not dating anymore.

I haven’t said anything, he looks concerned. What does he want me to say? What can I say? ‘Oh no Harry your lying’ ‘No of course you’re not a vampire Harry’ ‘It’s not April fool’s day yet Harry, what’re you doing?’ I would sound like a blubbering idiot. No instead I’ve gone for the more classic looking like a fish approach. But then I scowl at the fact Harry and Cole are now talking about me like I’m not here.

“He’s not wearing the watch Harry.” Cole attempts to murmur but I hear him loud and clear, Cassie stares at my wrist.

I wrap my right hand around my left wrist and rub it unconsciously. “Yeah Cole, I know. That’s probably how he got here.” Was the watch restraining me from walking? I don’t understand. Harry walks a little closer to me slowly and goes to take my face in his hands. “Listen to me,”

Before his hands come in contact I pull away from him like he’s hit me. “No, don’t touch me.” His face looks like I’ve shot him.

“Harry we need to get him away from here, people could be listening.” Niall chips in and I stare at him in anger, but also mostly betrayal. They’ve all been lying through their teeth since day one... wait, all of them… Cassie?

“You’re all following, yeah?” Harry asks, still staring at me, slightly embarrassing considering I’m panting and I can taste my own tears. Before I have the second to ponder anything else, I see a quick flash of everything around me moving and then for a second, the feeling of someone holding me, before I come to again, witnessing a forest around me as my surroundings.

I whirl around and look at Harry, my mouth open due to my breathing still being ridiculous. “How did you-?” I go to ask but he cuts me off.

“Vampires are fast, Louis. Faster than you can imagine.” He says and I scowl at him.

“Are you trying to impress me?” I scoff. Noticing the others aren’t here yet I attempt to raise my voice a little louder. “Why did you take me here? I don’t want to be here with you- I don’t want to be anywhere with you.” I cry, trying to get through to him. He bites his lip at me (the bastard).

“Why did you come here then?” He demands in a loud tone, fundamentally making me lose all respect I have for him. “You arrived at my door, asking me something that you clearly already knew, only to have it confirmed by me and now what? You don’t like the fact I didn’t lie to you?” Again, I want to slap him.

“You’ve been lying to me since you met me Harry! Did you really think I’d jump straight back into your arms after telling me the truth that you’re a vampire?” As soon as I’ve said the words I know that I can’t do this with him. “I shouldn’t have come here.” I whisper in a tiny voice. The fact that he heard me at all only made the thought of him not being human clear in my mind.
