~ Indirect : Taishirou Toyomistu x Reader Oneshot ~

Indirect

     Patrolling through the quiet streets, I was casually walking side to side with the bigger man known as Fatgum! A silly and energetic dude who can light up any room. I currently worked under him at his agency. I was beyond enthusiastic to hear I would be able to work under this amazing man. Underrated as hell honestly! He gets so much shit for being big yet he does a lot in his community. I guess that's why I was so stoked to be able to be in close quarters with the blonde.
     Looking side to side along the dimly lit streets, I held the small red box in my hand and a small chunk of the candy hanging off my lips. Quietly munching down on it, I shook the box up high to the man next to me. Looking up towards him, his smile shimmered brightly as he took a piece from the box.
     "Thanks there, [N/N]-chan!" He used a overly cute name for me. We're quite far into our friendship where nicknames like those were acceptable. Quite frankly, others may think we're a couple!
     "Anything for you, Totoro!" I beamed, using my favorite nickname for him. He chuckled at the reference before munching down on the small snack.
     Times like these, small interactions were nice actually. Peaceful and serene, almost like nothing can ruin this moment. Before the small box slowly becomes empty, a small idea popped in my brain. As my lips curl inwards, I bit on my lower lip slightly. I didn't want to make it too obvious so I simply inhaled before looking down at the remaining chocolate covered sticks.
     Taking one piece from the box, I nibbled on the top. Not wanting to make it too obvious, I made sure it wasn't too apparent. Shyly, I handed it over to Fatgum who stopped right in his tracks.
     "Sharin' again? Quite odd, you're quite the hogger sometimes..~!" He laughed, taking another small piece from my hands. Cheeks puffed up and embarrassed, I watch as he places it right in his mouth. His big smile never wearing off, I feel my cheeks heat up.
     "D-Don't blame me, I like food just as much as you!" I countered, holding my chest up high.
     "Relax, I was joking heh!- Anyways here, we've been walking for quite some time. How 'bout some water, hm?" He holds up a clear water bottle, waiting for me to grab onto it.
     "Well alright! Don't expect me to not backwash! Which..I'm just kidding by the way.." I mumbled, still heated from his recent comment. Chugging down almost half of the water, I felt my lips tingle happily. Been awhile since I last drank water today.
     Handing him the water bottle back, he grabbed onto it but unexpectedly, he pulls onto it. Still hand on the bottle, I was brought closer to him. Practically inches away from his nose. Widen eyes, I watch as his lips curl up into an innocent smile.
     "Ya' know if you wanted a kiss, you didn't have to ask so indirectly..~" His laugh so low yet held such endearment, it almost shattered my heart. Stun, I felt all the heat rise up once again. I let go of the water bottle as he opens the cap again and chugs the remaining water in there. Sighing happily, he tosses it to the nearest trash bin.
     In awe and amazement, I stood there, frozen. As he walked up forward, he gave me a sly smile as he turn to face me again.
     "Shocked huh, [N/N]?" He asked softly, bringing my attention back onto him. Shaken up, I rush over to his side again.
     "Shut up, would you?!" I yelled as I placed a small amount of distance between us.
     "Aw ya' know you love meh!" Looking down at my small form, I stared upward with a loving gaze. I simply smiled and nodded before looking back into the empty streets.
     'Of course I do, Taishirou. I always have..~"

Bonus:

Three months later after that confrontation...

     "Hey there, [Y/N]!" Fatgum cheerily walked in. I was sitting down at my station, having a couple of paperwork to be filled out. Taking my attention away from the piled documents, I look towards the huge man.
     "Goodmorning, Fatgum!" I waved shyly towards him. My once still heart was then suddenly beating rapidly. It's already been three months from that interaction, you would think I'd be okay by now.
     "I was actually kinda wondering about something of a' late.." He scurried his head towards an empty chair before propping up near me. Gathering my attention, I shifted my body towards him.
     "What is it about..? Oh! Is it about our recent heist with that one criminal? I've already gotten that taken-!" He simply laughed at my innocence before continuing on.
     "No no, nothing of the sorts. Actually, it's about that one night we were patrolling, remember?" He tilted to the side a bit, placing his hand on his hips like a child.
     "U-Uh..yeah, I do. What about it?" Feeling my heart pump right out of my chest, I couldn't help but think fondly of that moment.
     "Well..I was wondering if I can repay you.." He slightly hesitated, brushing his hand on the back of his head.
     As I was about to ask "what do you mean?", I was pleasantly surprised by the bold movement. Swiftly, he leaned forward towards me as he brushed his lips against mine. Quick yet passionate. Pulling away after a second, I could see his once confident stature was now replaced with an embarrassed quivering grin. His cheeks were flushed and beating bright red.
     "I-I-I'm sorry..I wasn't sure if you-..!" Just like an instinct, I pull on his iconic yellow jacket as I brush our lips against each other again. Holding onto each other, I could feel my mouth curl upwards subconsciously. After a few minutes pass by, we ripped our lips away from each other as we stared deeply into each other's eyes.
     "Kinda glad I did that trick a few months ago..." I panted, silently fangirling in the inside.
     "Hahah..! I'm glad too, my Gummybear~!" As he pressed his forehead against mine gently.
