- Gavin's POV -

I woke up to [F/N] still messing with my hair, running his fingers through it and then just letting his fingers twirl around it. I turn my head a little, looking up at him.

"Good evening." [F/N] mumbles, amusement lacing his voice as he speaks. He looks down at me, our position having changed while I was asleep. He was now half laying under me, my torso resting on his thighs while he ankles rested on the coffee table. I sit up, cringing a little at how much my muscles were beginning to ache and wondering why they were so sore. Once I was in a sitting position, I feel my stomach churn, making my throat burn when bile built up in it.

"Oh, shit..." I mutter, getting up and stumbling off towards my bedroom, rummaging through my bag and taking out my medications. I hadn't taken them in a day or so, which was why my body was aching. I had become so reliant on them that my body went through mild withdrawals every time I'd forget to take them. It wasn't pretty to see, I'll admit. It wasn't as bad as they could be, but that didn't mean it was any easier. I take the pills into the kitchen, getting myself a glass of water to take them with although I still felt awkward being able to help myself to things in someone else house.

I look at the tablets in my hand, mentally sighing as I take them. I don't remember when I was first put on them - years ago, it felt like. I don't know how long I've been on them, but all I know is that these little things were the floats keeping me above a very stormy sea. It felt as if every time they weren't in my system, I'd sink, the waves battering and forcing me under everything I've been trying so hard to ignore and then, they'd be back in my system and my head would at least be above water enough for me to breathe.

"Are you alright there?" I hear from behind me, making me turn to look at the other Detective who had a soft expression on his face. Gag worthy... I nod, putting the pills on the windowsill, "Are they okay there?" "Of course, put them wherever you'll remember." He states, walking past me to glance at them, nodding. He then goes to the fridge, humming and taking out some things, obviously having his mind set on food. Well, it's not that I don't like food, it was more so, I didn't want it. I don't feel hungry most of the time, I just felt tired and ready to sleep constantly. Work was such an effort that even that was losing its pull on me - it was the only thing to make me get out of bed, dress, look somewhat presentable but even work was losing my will to do all these things.

"Do you want to eat dinner or would you like just something small?" "You don't have to do that, I can make something for myself, thanks," I reply, not wanting to force [F/N] to make two separate things while I'm perfectly capable of doing things for myself, to a certain extent. I wasn't completely useless. He takes out some stuff, working on whatever it was he was going to make for himself while I went back into the living room, getting comfortable on the couch. I pick up the files, looking over the cover before opening it up. I didn't particularly want to look at the pictures so I quickly removed them, placing them face down on the table then taking out the notes, scanning over what we know.

"[F/N], do you have some spare paper or anything I can use to write some notes?" I ask, looking at the male as he walks into the living room, humming. "I think I have something better..." he mumbles, wandering off for a few moments. After that, I got a little curious and followed him in the direction he went in, into the males bedroom. I glance in, seeing him rummaging  under his bed.

"Do you need some help or...?" I question, watching as he tugs out a pin board from under his bed, turning his gaze to me with a slight grin, "Nope, I'm good, but I have this if it's more useful than just some paper." he beams, proud that he kept it. I crack a small smile, nodding and carefully taking it off the man, carrying it into the living room and setting it down on the floor. [F/N] soon hands me a pencil case and a couple of notepads, chucking them on the floor beside me as he wanders off to retreve the dinner he just made for himself. He sits beside me as I tug out some pens, grabbing a notepad and writing down the important pieces of information we need.
