-  Gavin's POV -
When [F/N] told me that Jenny was in a wheelchair, I couldn't help but feel like something was not right either. Okay, but there were many ways she could leave on her own, no? I mean, family members? Friends? Of course, there is a reasonable explanation as to why she may not be answering the door.

[F/N] looks at me after a moment, furrowing his eyebrows with worry. He knocks once more just to be fully certain before rushing off, leaving me standing here, confused. He comes back with one of the guards, them easily opening the door. [F/N] rushes inside, me quick to follow him. Not that I didn't think of it, but the inside was a bloodbath, even [F/N] cringed as he stepped further into the apartment, stepping carefully to avoid spreading blood everywhere. He glances around, mouth open a little in surprise while I follow where all this mess was leading. Down the hall, there was a heap on the floor. I step closer, bringing my hand up to flick on the light as I step closer.

A body laid limp on the floor, lifeless and completely drained, much paler than it should have been. Beside it, was a mass of shattered glass and blood, it still running across the floor. I hesitate but move closer, looking over the body and assuming that this was Jenny. If not, someone was seriously in the wrong place at the wrong time.

"Gavin, did you-" "Yeah..." I mutter, already knowing what he was going to ask. [F/N] stares at the corpse on the floor, nodding a little and then turning away, walking off. I glance at him, following a moment afterwards. He sucks in a deep breath, "So, I'm treating this as a murder. They want to class this as a homicide but... No, it's not, I know it's not." [F/N] says, crossing his arms as we walk out of the building, walking up to Fowler.

"So, we have a homicide on our hands," Fowler says, looking at the two of us but [F/N] jumps straight into disagreeing with the Captain. "Sir, I really don't think this is a homicide, I think it was a murder." He folds his arms tighter, confident expression on his face as he speaks, he knew what he was saying and he believed it. Fowler heaves out a sigh, obviously not liking that [F/N] was arguing with him. "[L/N], we'll treat this as it is - a Homicide. Besides, this isn't your case, It's theirs." He gestures behind him to where Hank and Connor were just walking towards us. [F/N] was about to argue but Fowler holds up a hand.

"Gavin, take him home, you know you're both on paid leave for at least another month." Fowler gestures for us to leave. I gently place a hand on [F/N]'s shoulder and guide him back up to our apartment [F/N] was obviously not impressed with Fowler's decision but he sat on the couch, heaving out a sigh and hugging a pillow to his chest. I sit beside him, being as gentle as I could when I take his hand in mine, lightly rubbing the back of it with my thumb.

"I know it must sound so stupid but... I know this isn't a homicide. I just... I know it." He says, running a hand through his hair and signing deeply once more. He closes his eyes, letting his head fall back against the couch. I couldn't help but feel bad for him. He may not have been so close to them but I know exactly what it's like to not be believed.

"[F/N], I'll openly admit that I don't know what to say about it, I would have to class it as a homicide, even if I didn't want to... So, there's nothing we can do. We're not working on the case anymore." I explain, wrapping my arm around the male while he turns his gaze back to me, giving a slight nod. "Yeah, I suppose you're right. I'll drop it..." He replies. I shake my head, pressing a light kiss to his temple, "That's not the way I mean it, [F/N]. Anyways, let's just try and relax. Let me run you a bath."

Getting up from the couch, I wander into the bathroom and run a bath for my lover. I dip my hand in the water before feeling [F/N] hug me from behind.

"I love that you don't fight me on this anymore..." He mutters, pressing his face against the back of my shoulder. I smile a little, leaning back against him. "I don't see a reason to anymore..." I respond, tilting my head to the side when [F/N's] face presses against my neck instead. He presses a couple of kisses there, the feeling making me melt a little bit. "Will you join me?" He asks after a moment, lifting his head and looking at me. I hesitate for a moment before realising that I have absolutely no reason to be embarrassed about being undressed in front of this man. I give a nod in response before [F/N] spins me around to face him, confusing me.

[F/N] carefully unbuttons my shirt, sliding it off my shoulders and letting it drop to the floor. His fingers gently run over my torso, just like he had done a thousand times before, at this point, but it was not even the slightest bit less tender. He leans in, a careful and ridiculously soft kiss being pressed to my collarbone as his hands move down to remove my jeans, undoing and pushing them down. He lightly runs his hands over my thighs before letting them slip under the fabric of my boxers, removing them before pulling back to look at me. Even though this wasn't the first time he'd seen me in such a way, it didn't reduce the nervousness.

"Gav, you still look so nervous..."

"I'm just not used to it..."

- [F/N]'s POV -

A soft expression takes over my features when I hear Gavin. Sure, his body was covered in reasons to not be seen as pretty but that didn't mean I would find him any less attractive. He shakes his head, moving my hands away from him as he tugs my shirt off, dropping it and then placing his hands on my sides, catching me off guard. He tugs me forward, pressing a light kiss to my lips.

"But I suppose I'm getting used to being able to do this..." He admits, chuckling and sliding his hands down to strip me the rest of the way, being surprisingly soft with all his movements. I've never seen him act so gentle towards me that I could help but hug him tightly, not wanting to let go of him.

"The bath will get cold..." He says after a moment, carefully pulling away and getting in. He leans back before gesturing for me to join him. I climb in carefully, leaning my back against his chest and letting a breath of relaxation leave me. "This is perfect, actually..." I admit, glancing back at Gavin who seemed perfectly at ease.

After a moment of thinking, I take his bandaged hand in mine and begin to undo it. I let the bandage drop before I inspect the cut. It had healed quite well, even though it had only been a little while. He pulls his hand away to look at it himself.

"It's much better, thanks..." He says, wrapping his arms around me and kissing over the top of my shoulder. I felt so unbelievably happy but that case wouldn't leave my mind. I couldn't forget what I saw and I knew that there was something more behind this. "Hey, get out of there..." I hear Gavin mutter before his finger taps against my head. I turn around in the bath, looking at him. "Listen, we'll be able to help with it soon enough, I'm sure... Fowler said I need to be cleared by a therapist before I can return to work. You, however, can go back whoever you want." He runs his fingers over my cheek but I shake my head, not wanting to leave Gavin on his own. "I know you're doing better and everything, but I don'y want to leave you on your own. Besides, this... This is nice." I place a kiss on his chest and then rest my head against it.

Gavin tilts my head up, biting his bottom lip before muttering something that made my heart want to leap out of my best.

"You know, I love you, kinda..." He quickly splutters out, face turning red as he looks away. I grin, leaning up and giving him a gentle kiss. Gavin instantly melted, cupping the side of my neck and pulling me up a little more so he could make it a little more intense. I let my hand slide over his chest before going further down, slowly sliding it down towards his crotchhh, lightly feeling over his v-line. He let's out a slight hum before he pulls back, a tiny but breathless. "Hold on, hold on..." He mutters, looking at me. "We can't do this now..." He adds, looking away and making me furrow my eyebrows. "Are you alright? Did I move to quickly?" I ask, worried. Gavin gives a snort, shaking his head. "No, were in a bath." I realise what he means and sit up, climbing out of it and grabbing us some towels.

Gavin grabs one and wraps it around his waist, slightly adjusting his intimacy behind it and seeming embarrassed. I grab his hand, not fully bothered to cover myself as I tug him towards my bedroom.

"Are you sure you're up for it?"

"Yeah, [F/N], I trust you..."
