"Should we kill her?"
"No, are you crazy? She's like- a kid!"
"She could be dangerous."
"Should we just leave her here?"
"I don't know."
The voices faded in and out, and no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't get my eyes to open.
After a few more minutes of trying, everything went quiet again, and I was out. Again.

I finally got my eyes to open, the next time I woke up. There were no voices this time just the hum of an engine. A ray of light shined through a window. It took a minute for my vision to clear, and when it did I slowly sat up.

I looked around, I was in an RV. My head was pounding.

"She's awake." Someone said quietly. I looked around and realized there were quite a few people sitting around me.
But someone in particular caught my eye.
The man from the woods.
I went to say something, but shut my mouth because I wasn't quite sure what to say.
Whenever I feel unsafe, I put my hand on my little python that my dad gave me when everything went down. It brings me comfort.
This time, it wasn't there.

"Where's my-"

"In a safe place." And asian guy cut me off.

"The fuck." I whispered to myself, sitting up more.
The man from the woods put his hand up, signaling me to stop. I relaxed a little bit more and glared at everyone in the RV.

"Don't make me regret saving your life." He muttered.

"Who are you people? Where are we?" I questioned, ignoring him.

"Glenn." The asian man said.

"Dale." The older man that I had seen running from the CDC earlier spoke softly with a nod.

No one else spoke after him.

I pointed at the man from the woods.

"You?"

"Daryl."

"Thank you- Daryl." I mumbled, quite unsure of the entire situation.

"What about the rest of you?"

Dale stepped in, "That's Andrea."

He pointed to a blonde woman, the one I saw him running with before.

"That's Shane." He pointed to another man.

"I'm Rick." Another man stepped up.

"This is my wife Lori, and my son Carl." He motioned to a young boy, maybe only a year or two younger than me, and a woman.

"There are a few more in a separate car." Glenn added.

We rode for a bit in silence. It was sort of awkward, actually. I didn't have much more time to dwell in my thoughts, though.

Eeeeeeeeeek

The brakes screeched to a halt.

"Dude, you gotta fix those brakes." Shane mumbled.

"Sorry." Dale, who was driving, retorted.

"T-Dog stopped, I can't tell what happened."
The door opened, and a slightly buff looking man stepped in, I assumed he was T-Dog.

"There's a girl layin' in the damn street, nearly hit her!" He grunted, grabbing a water bottle from the console.

"Did you hit her?" Rick asked, stepping forward.

"Nah, but here's the weird part: Shes alive, shes breathin', her eyes are open, she's just...layin' there."

Rick raised an eyebrow, and stepped out of the RV. Shane and Daryl followed.
I, being the nosey kid that I am, followed too.
The girl looked about my age, with long dirty blonde hair pulled up into a pony tail. She sat up a little when Rick got closer.

"I was kind of hoping you'd hit me." She muttered, starring into the woods next to the highway. I exchanged a raised eyebrow with Daryl. "Talk about dramatic," I whispered to him.

Rick held out his hand to help her up, but she stood up on her own and began to walk away.

"Where are you going?" He asked, not moving from his spot.

"I don't know."

"Why don't you come with us."

"You can't just trust her, Rick. She could be dangerous." Shane snapped.

"She's just a kid, Shane. She needs help."

"So, what's your name?" I asked her, sitting down across from her back in the RV.

"Ever." She mumbled.

I ignored her attitude and gave her a smile, "I'm Riley."
