That's when Riley's head jolted up, from looking at the ground. "What's wrong." Ever asked. Almost scared, she made all of us jump. "Dale."

* * *

*rileys pov*

I can't believe we left dale! I'd grown close to him, and what if he's gone, and he dies. "I-I'm sure... Ok, we can't go back..." Rick said quietly. No. "It's dale, Rick, what if it were Lori, or Carl... Think about others for once! We don't know where he could be and we need to find him!" Rick looked at me, he just stared. "Rick! She's right!" Lori yelled. Then there was a faint voice, coming from the forest next to the highway. "I-I'm-ok.." We froze. "Dale!" He slowly walked out, revealing a huge bite mark on his arm. Oh no. "W-we could amputate it.." Someone suggested. "No, it's to late, it's already day time, the bite happened hours ago, it's already spread, it's to late." I felt a tear fall down my cheek.

*time skip: after winter passed.*

Winters over now, we've found a prison, cleared it out, lori's 8 months pregnant, and so far, we haven't lost anyone else. Except, we had to put Dale down. I share a cell with Ever, and it's like we're not in the end of the world... Almost...

* * *

"We're gonna go scout out more of the prison," Rick explained. "Who's going?" Ever asked, obviously wanting to go. "Glenn, Maggie, Daryl, Hershel, t-dog, and me."can I go?" Ever and I asked at the same time. "No, we need you here in guard invade anything happens." I sighed. "Fine..." He continued. "Carl, you take the keys, and let us back in when we come back. No one else goes in and out, got it?" Carl nodded.

We were all sitting in silence, and by we, I mean Me, Ever, Carl, and madi. Madi was a girl we found on the road in the winter. She's really sweet. Carl broke the silence. "So.. Uh. How's life..." I let a smile cross my face. "Um, besides the fact that the worlds over and there's millions of dead people walking around trying to eat me, I'm doing pretty good..." Everyone laughed. Beth came and joined us. "Madi?" She asked. "Yeah?" , " are you good with weapons? We could use more tough people. " the question put a confused look on everyone's face. "Beth?" She looked at me, "uh, you've been acting different lately, are you ok?" She didn't even answer, she just stood up, and walked out. I noticed a concerned look on Carl's face. "You ok?" I asked. "Yeah, just they've been gone a while, I was just-" he was cut off by yelling, they were back, and something was wrong. We ran out and saw that Hershel's leg was gone, and there was blood everywhere. Oh my god.

I sat with Beth next to me hugging me tightly. "Beth." , "yeah?" She sighed. "Hershel's gonna live, you know that right?" I asked. She sighed, "Are you okay, you've been different lately." I wondered aloud. She did the same as earlier and walked out. I sighed, then I heard someone walk in to the cell block, so I stood up and walked out of the cell, to see it was Carl. "Whatcha got there?" I asked eyeing a bag he had with him. "Found the infirmary!" He stated. "Sweet, let's go show them!"

"Carl! Where'd you get that?" He smirked. "Found the infirmary!" He told them. "By yourself?!" , "yeah, I-" Lori cut him off. "You went by yourself!!! Did you see this! This is what happened with a group!" Carl started to get mad. "Well at least I tried while you all sit here starting at a bloody stump!" Lori sighed. "Well I appreciate it but,-" he cut her off "well then get off my back!" There were a few gasps. "Carl- she's your mom, you can't talk to her like that!" Beth yelled. "Whatever." He mumbled, turned on his heals, and walked out. I sighed and shook my head and walked to me and Ever's cell. "Heard what happened." Ever whispered. "Yeah- I didn't expect that. " I whispered.

* A FEW DAYS LATER*

"C'mon Hershel, you got this!" Those words made me think of when I was shot, and Ever and Beth were helping me walk. We were all outside and turned to see Beth helping Hershel down the stairs with Lori. Hershel was walking, everything was peaceful, and we all finally had a happy moment. "Walkers!!!!" I head carl scream. I knew we could never have a happy moment for more than 2 seconds, Jesus. I ran with Ever and we helped Hershel in the gate with Beth shot some down and ran. I saw Carl go with Lori and Maggie. And I ran with Ever and madi and we got inside the prison and into the perch. "We need to find everyone else. And make sure they're ok." Madi stated. "Yeah, c'mon." I responded. We walked back out to the place where all the walkers were, but it was all cleared now. Rick and Daryl were there, Glenn was there, but Lori, Carl, Maggie, t-dog, and carol weren't there. I started to get worried. "Where's everyone else?" Ever asked. "I don't know." Rick said bluntly. That's when we heard a door open behind us. Hershel and Beth were coming out from behind the gate and beth smiled. So I turned around and saw Carl, and Maggie holding a baby. But Lori wasn't there. Right then, I knew what happened, Lori died in child birth.

"W-where is she.." Rick was now right next to Carl bending over, he knew the answer, I just don't think he wanted to believe it. "No. No! No!" He kept crying. Carl just stared at the ground, Maggie was crying to, so she handed the baby over to Beth. I saw Rick eyeing the axe. "Rick- don't." But he didn't listen, he grabbed it and ran inside, Glenn tried to stop him but Daryl held him back.

Can't we just go for a little while without losing someone?

"Where's t-dog guys?" Someone asked.

"Found the remains of his body being eaten by walkers. I felt a tear on my cheek but I wiped it away.

"Where's carol?"
