Song: Eddie Khay — Do The Dance

*Unedited* (Two or three chapters left? I don't even know what I'm going to do with my life when this ends, but I can't unnecessarily prolong it)

"This is so much money!" I exclaimed, snatching up the notes that the ATM rapidly coughed out. "Good thing we brought a bag to take it all."

"Be quicker. For all we know, it could be happening by six o'clock or something," Edinam urged as she took the notes I handed her, arranging them in the bag.

"Sure Eddie. I'll wait more quickly," I rolled my eyes.

"Oh screw you," she muttered crossly.

"What did I do? You've been grumpy ever since we left the jail."

"Yes, where my parents are going to be when the night is over. Why wouldn't I be all sunshine and rainbows?"

I glanced at her; she was dropping the notes aggressively while bowing her head, like she was trying to hide her tears. The poor girl. She was going to be all alone when they were gone. "I understand. It's hard finding out that the people you look up to are not who they claim to be. My parents..."

"What did your parents do?" She eyed me, frowning.

"My father is a paedophile," I smiled. "The idiot groomed Etornam, which is why she hates me so much and started all the rumours that eventually ruined my life. Not just that, but he also got her pregnant."

"What the—" she stared up at me, eyes and mouth wide open, "is she okay? Oh my goodness, that's the most disgusting thing I've ever heard!"

"I would've cared if she didn't help the chief kidnap Elikem and send him to an organisation that harvests children's organs. Heck, she can die and I won't bat an eyelash."

"She... wow. I will never understand why people think hurting innocent people is justified just because someone they're close to hurt you."

"I know right. A child too, who didn't have the choice whether to be born to his family or not."

"But is she okay though? What about the child?" She asked.

I could tell that she cared, even though Etornam was a horrible person. She'd just always been that way. "She had a miscarriage, thank God. I don't think she would've had the heart to terminate the pregnancy, then some poor child would've been born to those two devils."

"Yes, but where is she?"

I observed her suspiciously. "Why do you want to know so badly?"

"I'm just curious, and she went through a lot herself. I'm not saying what she did is justified, but I understand her, you know?"

"You understand that she wanted Elikem dead for his father's mistakes? You understand that she practically ruined my life for something I had no idea was happening?" I asked her heatedly.

I wouldn't allow anyone to defend that female dog for what she'd done. She was a horrible, horrible person. Even if my father hadn't done anything to her, being that hateful and sociopathic, she would've still been a horrible person.

"Wow, that escalated quickly," she replied, looking down. "No, I'm sorry."

I huffed, going back to collect the notes. We worked in silence until the ATM stopped coughing up money.

I hit the stupid machine out of annoyance. "That's not all of it. We're supposed to collect six thousand. That's just two."

"The money must be finished," she said. She stood up and observed the ATM. "It's finished alright."
