"Wait," I said, confused, "these aren't all from you?"Priscilla chuckled. "None of these are from us, dear. We'll take you shopping at the end of this month and get your school supplies and some extra things. These particular gifts are from everyone who was close to your parents. They're meant to welcome you back into our world. Everyone is tripping over themselves to meet you. And I mean owl after owl. Speaking of, we will not be opening ay of the the Malfoy parcels at the moment, Jason."
Jason stopped tapping his foot. "But, Mum-
"No buts about it. The Malfoys are coming over tonight and Isabella will open her gifts with Lucius. Alone."
Priscilla had never sounded so cold hearted. Jason pressed his lips into a thin line and sighed. "Fine."
Priscilla and Jason got up and left. Caleb crossed the room to sit next to me on the bed. "I hope youre ready for today," he said with a smile.
"What? The dinner? What do I have to be ready for?"
"No, kid. Not the dinner. The preparation for the dinner."
"What's so bad about that?"
"Well kid, mom's never had a girl to dress up before. Especially not when a powerful family with a boy your age is
coming over.""A boy my age?" This was news to me.
"Yup." He smiled at me. "But don't get any ideas. You're not allowed to date until you're 45"
"Who came up with that rule? Because it definitely wasn't Priscilla."
Caleb rolled his eyes and ruffled my hair. "I came up with it, kid. And I'm not kidding either."
He got up and walked to the door.
"Seriously. Get ready for a pre dinner party blood bath."
