Fiasco

Chapter 1

It was around 4 PM and i had just gotten out of school and i was on my way to my mums cafe. it was pouring rain while i was walking but i had always liked the rain, the sound of the water hitting the earths surface, the puddles you would step in while walking, so i wasn't in much of a rush. I was listening to some music and realised i had arrived at the cafe, i opened the door and was immediately hit by a wave of warmth, i stepped inside letting the heat of the room hug my body.
Mum: "Hi y/n how was your day today?" My mum greeted me at the door.
Y/n: "It was alright just the normal boring things as usual."
Me and my mum wouldn't speak much while we were working. My clothes were soaking wet so i went to the back and got changed into my uniform, it was a quiet day inside the cafe, so i was able to do a bit of studying for school. Usually my mum would be out front serving any customers we had but she was in the office sorting out finances so it was just me all alone. While i was studying for school i heard the bell ring, we had a customer. I quickly put all of my work under the counter and stood up ready to take this persons order. Instead of coming up front he sat down at a table, he must be new to the town. i walked to his table and noticed his face it felt familiar like i've seen it before.
Y/n: "Hi i'm y/n what can i get for you?"
???: "Hi, i'm ivan is it okay if i sit in here until the rain stops?"
I noticed he was dripping with water.
Y/n: "Of course you can i'll be at the counter if you need me. I have some spare clothes if you want to borrow them?"
Ivan: "Are you sure?"
Y/n: "Of course!"
Ivan: "Thank you so much."
I went to the back and got my clothes that i had worn, thankfully they were dry by then. I went and gave them to ivan and went back to studying. An hour had gone by and it was still raining, i noticed that ivan would occasionally glance back at me and then go back to his phone. I had finished my school work and decided to check my phone, 0 notifications, i wasn't the most popular person in school and didn't have many friends but it never really bothered me. my thoughts were interrupted by ivan's voice.
Ivan: "Could I please get a coffee y/n?"
Y/n: "Give me a sec."
I quickly made him a coffee and gave it to him, me and him didn't really speak much. I checked the time 6:30PM. I should be getting home, i looked outside and the rain had cleared up.
Ivan: "I've always liked the rain, i'm not sure why, maybe the sound of it hitting the earths surface or-"
Y/n: "Stepping in puddles while your walking. Sorry it's a habit of mine to finish off sentences."
He chuckled a bit,
Ivan: "It's fine, i've never really liked summer i've always preferred cold weather, anyways better be off. thank you so much again, i'll come by again another day and drop your clothes off."
Y/n: "Bye ivan."
I flipped over our open sign and went to make myself a cup of hot chocolate, his face i knew it from somewhere.
