For a good few seconds I could see nothing but white spots flash across my hazy vision. Everything was blurry and all I could see were dark figures walking past me, not sparing me a glance.
As if it were a dream, my vision cleared and I found myself sitting on cold concrete— drenched. I looked up slowly and saw grey, cloudy skies which shook with thunder. The rumbling sounds were just as loud as my racing heartbeat.
Tiny dots of water splattered across my skin, like a liquid pattern of tiny globes that reflected the dark grey weather. The drops of water combined and trailed down my thin, jet black jacket as the water fell faster from the sky. It further caused the figures around me to dash for cover faster than before.
A small smile spread across my face and I found myself opening my arms wide to embrace the rain as I sat on the rough concrete surface. Although I felt cold, it was nothing like the feeling of emptiness the darkness had previously provided alongside it. I relished the little drops of water that fell onto my skin, and enjoyed the touch of the cold, yet calming raindrops. It wasn't long before I roughly picked myself up off of the concrete and spun around, feeling the air and rain around me tickle my face and brush my hair.
I skipped in the rain even as it covered my new clothing, leaving it soaking and sticking to my skin. I saw a car nearby and couldn't help but look at my reflection just to check that I wasn't dreaming. I wish I hadn't because that's when reality set in.
As I saw my face through the car window, I watched the stranger's expression turn from one in joy to one in pure horror. My previously tan skin was replaced by snow white skin, my brown locks were now a golden blonde which shimmered at every angle, and my enchanting hazel eyes were replaced with crystal blue eyes which turned slightly violet depending on the rays of the sun. All of these captivating features were perfectly arranged on my sculpted face.
This was not me but was someone else; someone exceedingly beautiful. I moved my arm to pinch my cheek until it turned a rosy red and saw my beautiful reflection do the same. I frowned at the reflection and saw it pout it's rose red lips at me just the same. I frantically rubbed the glass window and wiped away the tiny raindrops which stuck onto the surface.
"Who...am...I?" I whispered to myself, tracing my fingers across my perfect jawline. I looked just like a Disney princess which had stepped into real life.
"Where were my kids? Who was this person? Where am I?" All these thoughts ran through my head and I felt myself getting more confused by the second.
All of a sudden, I started to have an intense headache which caused my eyes to grow blurry. I felt warm tears drip slowly out of my doe eyes and mix with the pouring rain. A sudden flurry of emotions attacked me and felt unfamiliar as if they weren't my own.
It was just then that the memories surged through my head like an uncontrolled current of water, and caused me to fall to the ground in despair.
