11 Eternal Search

I put my arms and legs out like a starfish,allowing the wind to slow me down.
I cannot feel the wind as I fall,my new armour covering every inch of my body. I fall for about a minute,enjoying the night view.
I see the ground begin to become big very fast,all the fuzzy detail now becoming clear. We a dropping in a large field that looks to be about eight-hundred metres south from the facility,allowing us to remain hidden as we are deployed.
The lab facility is a large,black building in the shape of a cube. Multiple snipers are standing on the roof,looking for something to shoot. As I begin to get close to the ground,I put my legs towards the ground so I may land. My feet hit the ground,the loose soil around me creating a little dust cloud. I crouch down and place my right hand on the ground to make myself stable. Straight after I land,Grace and Victor land,the dirt around them disturbed,small indents now in the ground. I see Harmony's team land about six-hundred metres east of the facility,hiding in the small forest there,remaining hardly visible. Jaidyn and Alasdair land about twelve-hundred metres south-east of the facility,being further back and in between us so Jaidyn can see us both and remain hidden.
Grace pulls out a small ear piece and places it in her ear,I am guessing so that she can give us orders an hear from the other groups.
"Reath and Victor,put your armour to scan. We need to scan the building so know where everything in the facility is situated. It will make our job easier later on. To turn on scan mode,press a little button situated on your forearm on the screen." Grace commands,seriousness in her tone.
I look to the underside of my forearm to find a small touch screen about the size of a large iPhone. On the screen there are four images are shown; a helmet,a gun,a shield and the armour itself. I press on the helmet and lots of settings come up,but I just find the scan mode and choose that.
I see no difference and double check to make sure the scan mode is active,suddenly a small map appears in the top-left corner of my HUD,showing the field,forest,forest,the facility and everyone else's location.
I hear Harmony's voice.
"Jaidyn,eliminate their snipers and any other small infantry outside."
"On it." I here Jaidyn reply,concentration in his voice.
"Grace,once Jaidyn has eliminated the snipers,my team will try to lure out their forces with an attack to the building. Once you see a blue light,that is when you infiltrate the lab from the side and destroy what abominations are inside." Harmony informs us,a little bit of disgust in her tone.
"Okay." Grace says as she nods her head.
The men on the roof begin to fall and collapse,Jaidyn's sniper rounds piercing their bodies,killing them instantly. After about a minute,all the lab's snipers are dead and I begin to hear gun fire coming from east of the facility. My helmet zooms in,and I can see the fight. John is using his rifle and is slowly advancing,while Harmony and Morgan are up close,Harmony slicing with a sword and Morgan bashing with a large mace.
I cringe at the sight of humans being smashed by a giant ball of metal on a metal stick.
Suddenly a blue light appears in Harmony's hand,signalling for us to move up and infiltrate the lab facility.
"Stay close to the ground while we are in the field. Once we exit it,run to the lab's wall." Grace commands,looking ahead.
We all remain crouch as we go through the field,the high grass doing a good job to conceal us. We approach the end of the field,the grass suddenly ending. About one-hundred metres of bare land stands between us and the facility.
"Go!" Grace commands as she begins to run to the far wall.
Victor and I run,Victor running on all fours with great speed. All of us running at, at least seventy kilometres an hour,Grace at about ninety kilometres an hour and me and Victor at about sixty to seventy.
We clear the gap in seconds,not allowing anytime for the enemy to notice us.
"Stand back." Victor says as he places a device the size of a dessert-plate on the black wall.
The device lets of a slight beep and then a blue clear sphere forms around it,disintegrating the wall inside. We are left looking at a hole that Victor can easily fit through. The device drops at Victor's feet and he returns it to his belt.
The hole opens to a form of a prison cell with concrete walls,a bed,a toilet cubicle with a sink and a very large metal door with a slit in it.
"In we go." Grace says as she steps over the remainder of the wall.
Victor and I follow Grace into the small room.
"Reath,I am uploading a map of the facility to your HUD." Victor mentions as he pushes a button on the arm touchpad.
My mini-map is suddenly updated with hallways and doors. The building is very complex as I look at it,then I see three small green dots right on the edge of the map in a small and I guess that would be us.
"Reath,the door." Grace asks pointing to the large metal door.
I nod and walk up to it,digging my fingers into the metal,the armour plus my strength easily allowing me to rip the locked door of it's hingers. The door opens to a hallway leading left and right.
"We need to go left for a bit then right if we are to get to the main lab." I say,left down the hallway while looking at my mini-map.
We walk down the facility's tiles halls until we reach the main lab. The main lab is a large room separated up into smaller rooms with glass walls. Each smaller room is set up into two main sections,one having a surgical bench and the other having computers and note books. There were four of these sections in the room,making up a square. Large doors also lay to our left and our right,possibly being access points for enemy forces.
"Reath,check the computers. Victor,take the right door,I'll take the left." Grace commands as she draws hers katana and walks to the door.
I check the first sector,my armour rapidly hacking the computer allowing me to see it's contents. The computer shows files on Veil growth but nothing about a new breed. I quickly go to the next computer,which only has information on the designing of a teleportation device. I quickly save this file to my helmet because I like the though of teleporting. The third computer has no files at all,it has been completely wiped. As a go to the last computer I hear footsteps coming from down the hallway we came from.
"Incoming enemies!" I call to Grace and Victor as I see five men with pistols,dressed in military gear run up the hall.
Grace immediately switches to her pistol and begins to fire. Victor just charges them,his teeth bare like that of a wild dog. I form a bow and begin to shoot arrows at them.
Grace shoots two of the men in the chest,Victor throws one through a glass wall and I hit one in the shoulder with an arrow. All of them stay still for about ten seconds until they stand up and begin to change.....
