Chapter 1 - Seiko Takahashi

'plop plop plop'

The sound of raindrops hitting against the window pane almost seem to relax me. I watched as we neared our destination; Hida Takayama. I had to admit, I was excited.

"Are you okay back there, hun?" I heard mom ask, eyes still focusing on the road.

"Yea, thanks for asking," I answered, turning my attention back to the window. I felt my eyes start to become heavy and fell into darkness.

"Wake up, we're here!" I heard my mom's voice call out to me, as she shook me awake. I took in my surroundings and saw the traditional homes and small shops around. We are home. I stretched my arms and yawned, it was still sprinkling. The feeling of rain on my skin felt so good, it was calm and gen—

"Seiko-chan!"

I heard someone call out and I turned to the owner and saw a girl about my age with brown hair and honey eyes. She was wearing her school uniform; a black skirt, with a white button up long sleeve collared shirt, overtop was a navy blue jacket. It was a simple uniform, but it looked good.

"Chizu, how have you been?" I heard my mom greet the girl.

Wait.

Chizu...

Then it dawned on me. Chizu Kimura, the weapon mistress. She looks different, of course she did. It's been 10 years since I moved.

"Chizu-chan? Y-you look so good!" I complimented before going in to hug her. She let go, and checked me from bottom to top and smirked.

"I can say the same for you," Chizu grinned, raising an eyebrow, "Welcome home Seiko! I cant believe our families are going to be living together. I have my own mini Minka, we can live together there." I looked at my mom in approval and thankfully she nodded in agreement.

"After we're done helping you and your mom unpack, we can go around town. It's a good thing you arrived on a Friday! School just ended," Chizu laughed heartedly before grabbing one of our boxes and heading for their home.

"Hey Hey! Ani-san! GET YOUR BUTT HERE AND HELP OUT!" Chizu screamed to her older brother. I quietly giggled and saw a tall brown haired boy walk out his room groaning.

"Oni-san!" I called out to the sleepy boy and he looked at me.

"NEHH? SHE ARRIVED? Imouto? Why didn't you tell me they'll arrive today?" Iwai Kimura exclaimed before running out to help my mom with the other bags. I heard Iwai apologize to my mother while my mother laughed.

"Seiko-chan, come let's go to my Minka," Chizu chuckled, signalling for me to follow her. I followed and soon we arrived to her Minka. After what seemed like forever, we finally managed to settle stuff in. I looked over at the mistress and I realized she still hasn't changed out of her uniform.

"Well," I started, "Let's both change and get ready to go around town."
