"Happy 17th Birthday, Yua Akabane!"
- February 12 -
Time goes so fast when you're having fun. It felt yesterday was just the day at the lake. Mom talked to me last night, regarding the doctors that gave me life.
"You're expected to die during the month of June after your 21st birthday," she sobbed, "That's during the month of Akahiro's birthday. The doctors aren't even sure, so you die any day."
I opened my blog page and saw a lot of people greeting me Happy Birthday. I smiled and exited the page.
"Happy Birthday Yua-chan!" I heard my two friends greet me early in the morning.
"Hahah thank you!" I smiled at them, joining them in the hug.
"Let's go to school already," Akane-chan chuckled, "Seiko-chan, when are you going to tell Akahiro?" I narrowed my eyes to the floor and stayed quiet.
"Sooner or later, you have to tell him and Katashi," Chizu commented putting on her jacket, "but let's not worry about that. Come on, we'll be late." We walked out and headed our way to the school.
"It's beautiful how the oldest tree is the tree we all met at. It's still alive and well," Akane murmured as we looked at the tree.
"Takahashi-san! Congrats on the volleyball tournament last Friday!" a shy boy congratulated me, and I blushed.
"I-I'm not a one person team! It was all T-teamwork," I stuttered, not used to getting attention early in the morning.
I quickly ran inside my classroom while Chizu followed behind. We managed to win the high school championship this year. It was an intense game, but we did it.
"Seiko," I heard Akahiro call me and I glanced at him.
"Hmm? What is it?" I replied coolly.
"You did well in the tournament last week," He said before his face flushed and I giggled.
"If it weren't for the teamwork, it wouldn't have happened," I whispered still giggling. After replying, I turned my attention back to the door.
"Happy Birthday Yua-chan," I heard him whisper to himself, "you should be 17 today. I cant believe you're older than me."
"Seiko-chan, I was finding you, but here you are, already in class," Chizu panted, catching her breath, "you can be troublesome you know."
"Gomenasai, Chizu-chan. I just want this day over with. I'm excited for the weekend, we'll have the Valentine party right? Just two more days until Saturday," I replied excitedly.
"WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU WANT THIS DAY TO BE OVER? ITS YOUR 17TH BIRTHDAY TODAY!" Chizu yelled, before catching herself.
"I have many birthdays to come," I assured her, laughing.
"Wait, it's your birthday today?" I heard Akahiro speak up, and I stared at him smiling.
"Yep, officially 17!" I grinned, "Oh yea, would you like to come to the gathering at the Kimura's during the weekend? Bring your parents as well, I heard there will be adults there too! Please invite Katashi if he can."
I turned away from Akahiro, but I felt him stare at me for longer so I looked back.
"If you want to stare longer, let's take a picture," I offered. I took his phone and we took a selfie together.
"Remember that picture okay?"
